LadyShip
Am I the only one that thinks this is totally insane? A dog in the Peckham rye sandpit? How is that ever ok? Quite clearly says on the gate no dogs! Dogs are never allowed in playhrounds! Lynne
No dog in the entire history of the world has ever been a nuisance of any kind. malumbu
Dad asked Spot, can we go to the beach. No, said dad, we are banned as we sh*t in the sand. https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/311/311937/spot-goes-to-the-beach/9780241355503.html Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/274470-a-mum-had-her-dog-in-the-sandpit-at-peckham-park-today-seriously/#findComment-1481947 Share on other sites
ianr
The link merely confirms that there is a Penguin book called Spot goes to the beach. It shows the cover illustration of a dog and a penguin with their surfboards. I doubt it contains anything at all in the scatological department. Earl Aelfheah
There are a significant minority of people who have zero regard for others. Some of them have dogs. It's a bad combination. malumbu
I've never used the word scatological before and had to look it up. Thank heavens I never used it in casual conversation. I got the word 'sod' (of earth) mixed up with turd as a teenager, I expect 'turf' was on my mind. A good example of scatology? Dog poo in beaches is pretty horrid. As is human poo both raw and in sewage. tiddles
What in the children?s playground??? Ffs what are people like. I am a dog owner and that totally cheeses me off. There is enough dog allowed areas - and there are the dog on lead/ not allowed areas that must be respected. Dogs are never allowed in playhrounds!I think the question needs to be asked, is it a playground or a playhound? Dogs are always allowed in the latter I'm pretty sure. maniana
Maybe the dog had just done a poo so she knew it wouldn't do another one? Clearly it's not cool to bring a dog into a playground but perhaps there were circumstances we are all unaware of x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/274470-a-mum-had-her-dog-in-the-sandpit-at-peckham-park-today-seriously/#findComment-1482247 Share on other sites
KidKruger
If it's a no dog area, it's a no dog area. There's no debate to be had around other people managing their expectations otherwise, the clue's in the sign on the fence. andrewsmith
I find that signs are often too high to read and I don?t notice them unless I?m either looking for them or they are right under my nose. Anyway, got to run - there?s a squirrel in my garden. spark67
Nice .... takes me back to the 70s as a kid, doing the long jump into the sand pit at school during PE... usually a mine field of chod, teachers had to rake it before a lesson just incase due to dog walkers on the sports ground over the weekend. But sometimes they missed a lurking richard ... happy days. doogleflip
This is totally unacceptable, however, I have now got a nice image in my head of a labrador building a sand castle... alsmith
Why post on here a rant - if you are not happy about it say something to the dog owner at the time. Has no impact on them ranting on here !
