Please recommend a flooring specialist you trust

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Can anybody recommend someone who specialises in laying flooring? Ideally I want someone who can bring flooring samples and also provide a quote for the work. The work will be carried out in my mother's house, which is based in SE15.

I usually try to not interfere when work is being done at her house, but in the end, she ends up hiring unskilled tradesmen who carry out low-quality work.

A couple of years ago, she hired a guy who trimmed too much off the bottom of her doors and wasn't skilled enough to lay flooring round edges. He was a kind soul, but lacked the required expertise.

There were noticable gaps and weird cuts she had to put up with until she got the flooring removed and replaced with tiles laid by a professional.

The problem goes beyond flooring, but this is an area I would like to start with during this home refurbishment attempt. My job is to help her actualise the dream refurbishment that exists within her mind, but without getting in the way.

I trust that people here can make some good cost-effective recommendations.

Please feel free to PM me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I can highly recommend Merouane for this job. I found him on this forum, and I think he is quite well known in the area. His details and other reviews can be found on the site, his number is 07368258527.

Merouane did some flooring work for me recently, both laminate flooring, and repairs to Victorian pine floorboards underneath. His attention to detail and technical knowledge was really excellent. What is almost as important for me personally, is that he is a very nice guy and easy to get along with - he actually listens to what you say rather than ignore or humour you, to then go off and do his own thing, which is something some tradesmen I've used in the past have done. He is very neat and tidy too, and respectful when people are around while he works.

He is also very reasonable, and highly capable of doing many types of building work far beyond flooring.

Feel free to send me a pm if you want more info or to discuss, it's no problem at all.

Regards,

Damien

You seem not to understand the meaning of "national debt".  Have you perhaps been relying on someone else's usage? I'm sorry to hear of Starmer's decimation.

So I've dug out the url to have another try, this time without embedding:  https://x.com/guyshrubsole/status/1858490339356533018 .  Seems ok.   in reply to my own "Where did you get this from?" response to your post at https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/353788-is-rachel-reeves-becoming-the-new-liz-truss/?do=findComment&comment=1688310, in which you again spoke of the government's "doubling the national debt". The above merging of my posts in response to Sue and to Jazzer have been done by the forum system, so there's no point in my trying again to separate them.  I've already tried editing out the merging and reposting the one to jazzer, but ended up with the same forced merge.  Apologies. Latest edit.  The moral seems to be: don't try making two consecutive posts or they'll be liable to merging.  I've now been able to post a freestanding reply to jazzer's post now that there's an intervening post.
