Otta
Just sorting out some old CDs, and found the soundtrack to Cruel INtentions (90s take on dangerous liaisons). I think it's a cracking soundtrack.Forest Gump is another I like (more so than the film!), especially as it spans quite a wide time period.Any favourites? Otta
For a more "epic" soundtrack (orchestral, not songs), I like Last of the mohicans. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27388-movie-soundtracks/#findComment-601143 Share on other sites

As much as I love the film, I have to watch it again & again, just for the music.ETA My 2nd fave has to be The Good. El Pibe
Any of Shane Meadows films are class. Ted Barnes Underbelly was written for one of them but wasn't used but is worth buying. Bladerunner, a film where everyone was at their career best including, perhaps particularly, Vangelis. Anything by Tangerine Dream ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27388-movie-soundtracks/#findComment-601187 Share on other sites

By all accounts - noting a basic tune down and handing it to someone else saying 'score that for me, would you?' is a regular occurrence. The 'Zimmer Score' that impressed me the most was The Thin Red Line, I think.I'd nominate a couple of Kubricks: The Shining has a great score / soundtrack. 2001 is my all-time fave though: if you get a chance to see/hear it in a good auditorium (I went to the BFI) the whole thing - just sounds amazing.. especially the silence. *Bob*
Dirty Harry.. Bullit.. Lalo Schifrin! Definitely a favourite. Some of the twisted, freaky synth stuff he did on the early Columbos is worth listening-out for. The iconic classical contributions hog the limelight re 2001 but - as I say - it's really hard to appreciate how good the rest of it sounds without a decent cinematic experience.
