I couldn't access the government site but on the BBC news article (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-51643556) it doesn't list Lewisham and Lambeth as closing schools. Hard to imagine they will open schools when the surrounding ones are closed.

Yep - Lewisham ,Lambeth and guess what ? Greenwich all opening as usual .

IMO ,not quite "the overwhelming majority of primary schools will open as planned on Monday" as Gav stated ..

It looks bad, particularly in London but 50 out of 343 authorities delaying opening as planned seems to me ?the overwhelming majority?.

The children in the class mean all those households are mingling and if 1 in 3 carriers are asymptomatic that could mean the virus is transmitted to others who might get more serious symptoms. More vulnerable people will have been vaccinated when pupils return and hopefully the NHS capacity will recover slightly.

No one wants schools or businesses to close but if they don?t delay the return more people will die and the NHS will be overwhelmed. Or do nothing, the virus takes over and full lockdown is the only option.

Children need to run around wrap up and take them to Sydenham Hill Wood https://www.wildlondon.org.uk/nature-reserves/sydenham-hill-wood-and-coxs-walk

    • Sephiroth, meaning of. "There was one SOLDIER named Sephiroth, who was better than the rest, but when he found out about the terrible experiments that made him, he began to hate Shinra. And then, over time, he began to hate everything." "Ha, ha, ha... my sadness? What do I have to be sad about? I am the chosen one. I have been chosen to be the leader of this Planet. I have orders to take this planet back from you stupid people for the Cetra. What am I supposed to be sad about?"
    • We went there yesterday for lunch, which was really delicious and excellent value. A starter plus a main is £11.95 for their "lunchtime special". Just a main is £8.95. We had excellent gyozas to start, then I had pad thai and my partner had a stir fry, both with tofu. They were large helpings,  freshly cooked, with fresh veg. There is the option to have chicken or beef (prawns are £2 extra) Also they now have Thai beer (Singha) on draught or in bottles (previously it was being your own alcohol). The service was also good. We were sorry and surprised not to see more people in there, particularly as there was a match on. It is really worth the short walk from Lordship Lane!
