Yes, give them a call and don't take no for an answer. I had this with my broadband with Virgin Media. Having phoned up and "discussed" it with them in detail, the original price was eventiually held for twelve months.

we were paying a ridiculous amount for our TV, phone and broadband package when we really only used the broadband, so phoned them up and changed from a ?41 package to a ?17.50 internet only one!!! however we have only had this package for a month when we get the letter saying it's going up in Feb....i hate virgin media!!!
