I was alarmed by how close google maps can get to your window- they can't quite see through....yet. How marvellous for local crims to be able to study exteriors from the comfort of their 'puters. I hear other maps will be even more detailed, surely this can't be right? Who will be the first to invent some kind of gadget that shields you from these corporate spies.

I updated and live to regret it.

Kent Woolgrowers shop has (since my upgrade-ha ha) relocated to a car park in Ashford just of the station, complete with vert ramps and grind rails, not a rat-trap or Barbour in sight.

Though i'm quite moronically taken with the sat-nav that talks bit.

The way he says "at the roundabout take the second exit onto the A20eehhhhhhh" is fantastic

"Twent-aaaaaaay"

Also, I know London like the back of my hand, but i'm fekked if I recognise any of it on my maps now.

Is this an Apple thang ?

Lastly, why did my contacts go weird on my phone but stay as they should on my mac-Hmmmm, anyone ?

H,

But they only blur faces and so on don't they...not the whole of your house? Don't you have to give them an email address in order to get them to do this too..no biggy, but all extra info for the google meisters. Feels a bit like being the little animal at the watering hole and knowing you are being watched by the great, big hunter..

No it's quite clipped, maybe with a slight wiff of Edinburgh, with a little added "sleaze" to it.

But without the obvious James Bond "Ch-went-aaaaay"

So, one last time

"Twent-aaaaaaaay, oh yesh, Twent-aaaaaaaay times a day baaaay-bbbbby "

    • Hi everyone, we are trying to finslise our decision for enrolling our son for 3+ from September and currently considering Dulwich Prep or Herne Hill. We like both and appreciate there is no right or wrong answer but what we like about HH is great focus on early years and also being coed. However if we can avoid the 7+ stress then prefer to do that. Dulwich Prep is closer but the difference is not significant. we know children are very active and busy in DP and they have great facilities, but unlike HH, we don’t know much about their focus on personal development and emotional intelligence, etc! Also not sure about long-term impact of being in boys only school. Difficult decision for us and we appreciate feedback from parents if you can share please.    thank you
    • Yeah that was their old policy. Their new policy is to force you to have a water meter and if you refuse they put you on a punitively high tariff which effectively forces you to have one. I was doing well with my policy of polite resistance which was to say yes fine I'll have one fitted but then not actually book an appointment or cancel the appointments they made. But then I was persuaded that it would be much cheaper anyway.
