Pugwash
I did a small shop in iceland recently - I had to go to the bank and thought I would pop in to get a few basics- picked up a few special offers for our dinner, some sandwich fillings, and whole bill came to ?8 - very good value and the food was lovely Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27250-what-does-lordship-lane-need/page/7/#findComment-623831 Share on other sites

It's not all cheap pizzas and processed food - you can just avoid those. And the checkout people are lovely. Ridgley
Agreed - but there some people who think they are too good for Iceland and they are the same people that shop there after dark:) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27250-what-does-lordship-lane-need/page/7/#findComment-624447 Share on other sites

Otta
Are there a lot of funeral parlours then? I can only think of the Co-Op. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27250-what-does-lordship-lane-need/page/7/#findComment-624460 Share on other sites

Sorry if in bad taste.Presumably Brockley has an older population than ED if it's got four :))ETA: Or else some dodgy restaurants ..... or bad drivers ..... Otta
I used to live near a road called Allerton Road in Liverpool. I remember noticing as an 18 year old that there were lots of funeral parlors on that road. I was a bit nervous about my chosen place to live. PaulaMcD
apart from any suggestions about useful shops, places to eat, etc what Lordship Lane need is SENSIBLE PARKING regulations and maybe even a parking lot - for those of us who don't live within walking distance. You can hardly do some shopping and meet a friend for lunch if you only get 30 minutes' parking. It takes that long to post a letter in the post office! Lowlander
Does Lordship Lane not have a good bus and train service (via ED station)? Can you not park in a side street like everyone else? And if you must drive to the PO and park outside, there's a post office at the top of LL by Sainsburys where you'll never have to queue for more than 5 minutes. steveo
The last time I ventured down into the ex Dreamachine dungeon, there were a couple of blokes mending hi fi and mixing desks, and generally soldering and sticking valves into things.Mmm, solder. KidKruger
Otta I think they do all sorts of repairs. There's also various vintage kit for sale, though I don't know enough to determine if it's good gear or not (I'd assume it is because the guy seesm to know his stuff). No 'extras', for sale down there these days though.
