bobby's bear
After such a terrible summer I suddenly can't face the long winter ahead without some sunshine so I am trying to talk the OH into some winter sun.Does anyone have any reccomendations of child friendly places to go with a then 2 1/2 yo and and 6 mo, I was thinking the Canaries are about as far as we would want to go, but am open to other ideas.Has anyone any suggestions of quieter places to go in the Canaries away from the masses? And any accomodation reccomendations? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27168-winter-sun-suggestions/ Share on other sites
Indiana
We are thinking the same thing and have been recommended the Sensatori hotel in Tenerife by a couple of friends with kids/babies...you can book via Thomson. We are thinking of going in March when it should be about 22 - 25 degrees apparently. DVnewbie
The Princesa Yaiza in Lanzarote was nice.... Try looking at Easyjet holidays - it was much cheaper for us through them but we did have a middle of the night flight back (although the children were very good). I've heard good things about the Abama in Tenerife too. Lochie
A friend of mine also went to sensatori tenerife and said it was good quality and hassle free as lots geared towards kids. Don't think it's 'away from the masses' though but still sounded nice Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27168-winter-sun-suggestions/#findComment-598098 Share on other sites
canela
HiWe lived in Tenerife for 5 years and I had both kids there. It is wonderful for kids. easy, safe, shallow beaches, loads of pedestrian areas, everyone very child friendly, great ice cream...we still have our house there and rent it out for holiday lets. it's off the beaten track in a little village but only 20 mins to the beach. i'll send you a pm with details... WorkingMummy
Canela I may be onto you about your place, perhaps for oct/nov when our youngest is bigger and I can face the airport with all three of ours. How easy is it to get there from airport with three young children? All our friends used to love tuscany or Amalfi Coast, but generally rave about Tenerife now they are kiddied-up. canela
In a hire car or taxi, the airport is only 15 minutes away from our place. It's true - it is a really good place for families. I think because you're guaranteed sun, but not tooooo much, the beaches are really easy with shallow water, and for the more adventurous there are plenty of places to explore - pine forests, volcanoes, whale watching etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27168-winter-sun-suggestions/#findComment-611291 Share on other sites
