I think Quids has a lengthy rule book on this sort of thing. I think he calls this a "self assist". It may be disallowed under rule 42.2© if I interpret it correctly.

    • My thoughts exactly when I found them I was thinking hope she is OK, have a feeling her bag was maybe snatched and then these items were just thrown.. I'm sure the police will pass it on to the passport office I just didn't have the time to get over there anytime soon. And agree they wasn't very helpful at all unfortunately I felt I was causing a problem with just handing them in !!
    • Thank you Malumbu for your reassurance. It's an absolute disgrace for people to be making any racist conspiracy theories. These are the lost lives of men, women & children.....so upsetting. 
    • I found two Bolivian children's passports, pristine on the pavement in our suburban street. Concerned for the owners, I notified the police. They were rude and dismissive so I contacted the Bolivian Embassy who were helpful, grateful and keen to have them back. 
    • Yes ofcourse was just taking a chance someone may see it and I could give it directly to them, when you send back to passport office they don't inform the person they have received it... dropped off to police station now
