Many thanks People.

As a child having a Birthday only 6 days after Christmas and at the end of the actual year was a pain, I mean, it was a PROPER REAL WHOLE YEAR to the next one with nothing in-between.

The "this is a big present for Xmas AND your birthday" thing was horrible and mean. Even as a small child I wanted to know why I couldnt have had small presents on both days like everybody else did.

In my mid-40s (literally now) I still get far too much excitement from opening presents, even the office secret Santa ones, which I know will be chocolate genitals or similar.

Of course a NYE Birthday now means that I always have a party to go to, although seldom with jelly and ice-cream.

Anyway, to prepare for lunch and then Party!

    • Unfortunately I can't get near him as he's quite scared and my cat doesn't like him.  I will see if he is more friendly if he's around when my cat isn't in the garden ,I was just hoping someone might know if he has an owner or where he's come from .
    • 100%. Many of the problems that Labour have (after 1 year in office) are down to that 14 year legacy. They have very little room for manoeuvre. UK debt is around £2.925 trillion and the costs of borrowing are rising. The government is at the mercy of the bond markets. Meanwhile many services are on their knees and people are demanding investment.
    • Heya - not sure where to ask this, but I have an appointment on Bellenden Road tomorrow and in order not to miss too much time at work, I was going to work from a cafe nearby. Is there anywhere that would allow this for like an hour? I'd just be tapping away on a laptop and buying a coffee etc.
    • I'm getting into golf and have played a few times. Looking for a whole golf set to get started. Budget ~£200 max    Anyone looking to get rid of an old set? Ideally want to buy something all in one.
