How come those streetspace sites are so skewed to leaving positive comments?

Following the experimental road closures, what is working well at this location?

That's a bit of a leading question. Why isn't there one that says:

Following the experimental road closures, what is not working well at this location.

These council websites are so skewed towards the narrative they want to deliver.

This on Southwark Cyclists.....

'The closure of Peckham Rye to cars should extend all the way from Peckham Rye up through Rye Lane so that it's possible to get from Peckham High Street to Peckham Rye Park via Rye Lane without encountering cars.'

.....is precisely the problem with single issue lobby groups.

Half expected this as it's the way we are headed - seems to be roadworks on the bit of Rye Lane that's open every day - maybe they'll make them permanent. is something down there ? I think outside my flat is Quatermass and the pit.

There needs to be a legal challenge by means of a Judicial Review. I have obtained legal advice which confirms that in order to legally enforceable the roadblocks, there needs to be a second order under section 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Act 1984.

Furthermore, the 15 October 2020 order experimental orders under sections 9, 10 and 63 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 can be challengeable within six weeks. In the the first instance a pre-action protocol letter would need to be served on the council.

I took advice, you can do this - it will cost you to send a letter as first course of action, it will get them to pay attention - but may not do much more - anything beyond that could get very expensive - but you have time to do it.

I will PM you with a local solicitor's details who has experience in these matters. He gave me some good advice but we sadly didn't have time on our side.

Is this something One Dulwich might do?

    • If you are against the increase in fuel duty then you are surly against fuel duty full stop.  It has not kept up with inflation, I'm talking about getting it back on track.  Ultimately road user charging is the solution. Labour will probably compromise on agricultural land inheritance by raising the cap so it generally catches the Clarksons of the world who are not bothered about profits from land beyond, in his case, income from a highly successful TV series and the great publicity for the farm shop and pub
    • Were things much simpler in the 80/90s? I remember both my girls belonging to a 6th Form Consortium which covered Sydenham Girls, Forest Hill Boys and Sedgehill off Bromley Road. A level classes were spread across the 3 schools - i remember Forest Hill boys coming to Sydenham Girls for one subject (think it was sociology or psychology ) A mini bus was provided to transport pupils to different sites, But I guess with less schools being 'managed' by the local authority, providers such as Harris etc have different priorities.
    • There are teachers who have extensive experience of working with children with SEN but cannot access training to become SEN assessor (sorry cannot think of the correct title - senior moment ) as schools do not have the budget to undertake this.
