To the Police Community Support Officer (from the Philippines)...

Recommended Posts

...who escorted me close to my home tonight following getting completely lost around the back streets of Peckham on a diversion due to the very sad stabbing this evening. I was beginning to get quite distressed until you appeared.

THANK YOU! I hope you (and your boss) see this.

Haha! It all makes sense then, I did say to my husband that due to the stabbing there was a lot more traffic on our road and what looked like a Community Support Officer escorting someone in a Father Christmas hat - Sorry!

Laddy Muck....

I saw him earlier this evening and showed him your post, he was

chuffed and his colleague promised to tell their Sergeant.

Are you SERIOUS FatherJack? That is AWESOME. Thank you SO much. He was such a lovely man; very conscientious and walked with me quite a while until I recognised my surroundings (which turned out to be very close to home). He clearly loves his job. I am sure my "detour" made him late too...he was on his way to check into a Station. Bless him. I really hope his superiors appreciate him. He stands out.

@ Sue: thank you! (Glad to see your "smileys" are back...your posts weren't the same without them :)) !)

@ Huguenot: if it had been you that had appeared, I'd have thrown a manky pork pie at you and run in the opposite direction! AHAHAHAHHAAAAAA...

@ Vik: United and Christmas hats have similarities, I grant you, but they are definitely NOT the same. Tutt Tutt!

We shall fight with confidence and strength...whatever the cost may be,

we shall fight on the beaches,

we shall fight at the football ground,

we shall fight on the pitch and in the streets,

we shall fight in the Etihad,

we shall fight at the Theatre of Dreams,

we shall fight on the terraces,

WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER!

See you on the 9th December! ;-)

    • https://www.lambeth.gov.uk/libraries-0/carnegie-library It's a nice little library and meeting place.  One of the Carnegie ones of course. Actually not so little, the actual building: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Carnegie_libraries_in_Europe#/media/File:Carnegie_Library_Herne_Hill.JPG I get books from there sometimes, and have been to an occasional talk.  Last week there was a foursome quietly playing ?bridge/whist there mid-morning. I'm afraid I don't know anything about the Hub project itself.
    • Hi,  I’m wondering if anyone needs help with their dog during weekdays? I work part time as a nurse and so I’m free Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri each week.  I have young children and we usually go for a walk in the afternoons, around 1pm. I’d be happy for a child friendly dog to tag along with our stroll if they’re home alone during the day. The kids would love it and it’ll break up the day for your pooch. I’d charge £12. I live opposite Goodrich Road Primary school, so if anyone is close by and would like some help, let me know.    My contact number is 07599352340. Hayley
    • I bloody hate "grab". It used to mean "snatch" (not in its ruder sense) as in snatch and grab, and now it's just used all the time instead of "get" or "collect". eg "I'll come and grab them later" or "can I grab a cup of tea?" Also "Up for grabs" GRRRR
