There's a young fox outside 22 upland Road (between the family store newsagents and the caf?. It's just outside the door hunched over looking very unhappy and not moving. Is there anyone/organisation that could help?

With toddler so have had to leave, but it's still there after quite a while...

We have four foxes regularly visit our garden on Overhill Road. One now has an injured back leg and is unable to use it. It is difficult to tell from the photo if it is the same fox, but it seems to be doing ok, and is moving around. I don't think anyone would be able to get close enough to it, to be able to treat it. I'll keep an eye out and will call the fox project if I think its condition is deteriorating.

    • Was it not attached to anything? It seems a bit odd to leave a dog just standing by itself, if not. Also a bit odd if it ran away when its owner returned. You would think a happy dog would be pleased to see its owner. Was that outside the cafe in the park?
    • Now that we have sadly lost several of the local and localish  places to buy plants, can anybody recommend a good nursery which is reasonably near and has a good selection of shrubs? Or alternatively a good place to buy plants online (though  I would rather see what I am buying, as I've had bad experiences in the past when buying plants online). I need something urgently which is evergreen and prickly and will grow quickly to fill a shady  corner space at the back of my garden where fences have become bare and cats are climbing  over and waiting for birds to come to the feeders 😭 I'm thinking a Mahonia. Alternatively, is there some other way of deterring the cats without harming them (I like cats!) I don't want to use anything like spikes or barbed wire. If this is in the wrong section, admin, please move!
    • I can't find any evidence that the Norwood Road, Herne Hill PO is a Crown office, even in an FOIA reply of 2014 listing them all then: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/lists_of_crown_owned_and_franchi/response/505799/attach/6/Post Office Crown Branches List.pdf; but it does seem to offer some road tax and passport service: https://www.postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder/1330071/herne-hill.  So may there be some degrees of freedom?
    • He or she may have just been on a muddy walk and due a groom, but they looked a bit unkempt, which is a slight concern. Hoping it was the owner.
