nealfairfield
BD06XSR. Hello everybody. There?s been an abandoned vehicle getting moved around the area over the last couple of years. It?s a graffitied ford transit, registration BD06xsr. No mot. Not tax. Three parking tickets at last count. Even after multiple reports the council fail to take action. They do nothing. Have you had experience of this, or other graffitied vehicles that do not get moved? Many thanks. Vehicle 1Colour: White Make: Ford Model: Transit Year: 2006 Type: Luton van Reg. No.: BD06xsr Other: Keston road. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/264719-abandoned-vehicle-bd06xsr/ Share on other sites
tradingfiddle
Yes too many cars/vans like that in the area. I would put in a complaint with the council as that should make them act.https://www.southwark.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/complaints-comments-and-compliments/making-a-complaint Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/264719-abandoned-vehicle-bd06xsr/#findComment-1454843 Share on other sites
Sally Eva
southwark has a special complaint form for abandoned vehicles https://www.southwark.gov.uk/parking/abandoned-vehiclesyours doesn't seem abandoned though if someone keeps moving it. Make sure you report it to Apcoa: 0207 708 8587 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/264719-abandoned-vehicle-bd06xsr/#findComment-1454994 Share on other sites
Dogkennelhillbilly
If it's being moved, it ain't abandoned! No tax or MoT? Report to council and DVLA and cops (non-urgent line). Keep reporting until it's gone. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/264719-abandoned-vehicle-bd06xsr/#findComment-1455063 Share on other sites
ianr
OP knows the vehicle has no tax or MOT so presumably already knows about the different reporting routes and conditions set out at https://www.gov.uk/report-untaxed-vehicle. If it's only being moved every few months, proof of its being used on the road without an MOT is likely to be problematic.Edited to retract the last sentence above, having found:Pumbien v Vines(1995) The Times June 14 Queen's Bench Divisional CourtA motor car parked on a road was being used on the road for the purposes of sections 47 and 143 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 even if it was totally immobilised and could only be moved by being dragged away, and, therefore, required both a valid MOT certificate and an insurance policy. kford
There seems to be quite a few cars on CPR and surrounding streets that never move, with dirt gathering around their wheels Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/264719-abandoned-vehicle-bd06xsr/#findComment-1455117 Share on other sites
Abe_froeman
Maybe they belong to people who have been forced to self isolate for the last six months? northernmonkey
That wouldn't explain the lack of tax or MOT - if it has neither it cannot be legally stored on the highway. The 6m extension to MOT is reflected in the checker. As per above, keep reporting to the DVLA / Council. alex_b
Abe_froeman Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Maybe they belong to people who have been forced> to self isolate for the last six months? This has been going on for years, it?s not COVID related. Nutbrook St and Adys Rd used to have run down, graffitied vans dumped for a few months at a time, moving very occasionally. It seems the CPZ has pushed them further South.
