BD06XSR. Hello everybody.

There?s been an abandoned vehicle getting moved around the area over the last couple of years.

It?s a graffitied ford transit, registration BD06xsr.

No mot. Not tax. Three parking tickets at last count.

Even after multiple reports the council fail to take action. They do nothing.

Have you had experience of this, or other graffitied vehicles that do not get moved?

Many thanks.

Vehicle 1

Colour: White

Make: Ford

Model: Transit

Year: 2006

Type: Luton van

Reg. No.: BD06xsr

Other: Keston road.

OP knows the vehicle has no tax or MOT so presumably already knows about the different reporting routes and conditions set out at https://www.gov.uk/report-untaxed-vehicle. If it's only being moved every few months, proof of its being used on the road without an MOT is likely to be problematic.

Edited to retract the last sentence above, having found:Pumbien v Vines

(1995) The Times June 14 Queen's Bench Divisional Court

A motor car parked on a road was being used on the road for the purposes of sections 47 and 143 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 even if it was totally immobilised and could only be moved by being dragged away, and, therefore, required both a valid MOT certificate and an insurance policy.

This has been going on for years, it?s not COVID related. Nutbrook St and Adys Rd used to have run down, graffitied vans dumped for a few months at a time, moving very occasionally. It seems the CPZ has pushed them further South.

    • As a result of the Horizon scandal it now seems very clear that the Post Office management are highly disingenuous and not be trusted!  There needs to be a campaign launched to challenge the threatened closure, unless the Post Office can demonstrate beyond doubt that the branch is loss making - and even then it could argued that better management could address this. I hope the local media take this up and our MP  and a few demonstrations outside wouldn’t do any harm. Bad publicity can be very effective!
    • Unlikely. It would take a little more than a bit of Milton to alter the pH of eighty-odd thousand gallons of water.
    • It actually feels as though what I said is being analytically analysed word by word, almost letter by better. I really don't believe that I should have to explain myself to the level it seems someone wants me to. Clearly someones been watching way too much Big Brother.
    • Sadly they don't do the full range of post office services
