Albrighton Community Fridge

As covid makes an unwelcome return the Albrighton Community Fridge needs your help to help those who have no access to food and essentials. A modest ?10 donation will help enormously and you'll get a free copy of my book #lockdownlunch (pictured), donate through the link:

We dropped off some things and the amazing staff were so grateful and helpful.

I was able to park easily (I had some heavy things) and the staff came out to help with the bags etc. Quick and easy. Every little bit helps.

If I donate I'd like the book to be offered to families in need - is that possible please?

Thanks

Looking for Christmas cards? The Albrighton Centre are selling volunteer designed Christmas cards at ?5 for 10 cards.

All proceeds go to the Community Fridge and ?5 could give 14 families a sweet treat this Christmas.

Cards can be purchased from Reception at the Albrighton Centre Monday to Friday 10-4. Cash only and exact money if you can.

The Albrighton Centre is also crowdfunding to provide food and essential items for those in need during the current COVID-19 crisis and beyond https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunitycentre

Please help if you can. Unfortunately more people are needing to use foodbanks all over the country hence various appeals. Although the Community Fridge was established in 2017 numbers have increased since Covid and in November 350 households were using the Community Fridge each week.

Another way to donate to the Fridge is to do a tinned food drive in your street -- if you have that kind of street -- or in your building? Maybe ask everyone to order/purchase a few extra tins of tomatoes or tuna in their weekly shop, collect these up and deliver to the Fridge. Lots of the same kind of item work really well.

Several streets around East Dulwich do this and it makes a huge difference.

On Friday alone they served more than 190 households... the number of people experiencing food vulnerability right now is staggering.

Hi all.

I've been working as a Team Leader 4 days a week at the fridge and really see how any donations help. Please take a moment to read this and see if you can help us and our clients -

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The Albrighton Community Fridge has now reached a critical point and we cannot continue to meet the increased demand for food with our current resources. This means that we cannot guarantee there will be sufficient food or essential items for people who need them most.

We are so grateful for the generosity of everyone who has donated food and funds this year and to our funders for their support. Without these we could not have provided this incredible service. However, we still need your help!

HOW YOU CAN HELP

💚 Donate to our fundraiser

http://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunitycentre

💚 Organise food collections from friends & neighbours

💚 Book an online delivery or drop food donations at the centre

💚 Cafes/Restaurants/Shops please donate any surplus food or essential items

💚 Continue to fundraise with your own lovely fundraising ideas

Thank you!

I was helping out at the Fridge on Friday and can confirm stock/supplies are very low indeed. Several area streets have arranged regular collections, or you can drop off food there yourself. Tinned veggies like corn, beans, tomatoes are always sought after, as is tinned fish like mackerel, sardines, tuna. Fresh produce always a bonus.

Donating to the JustGiving page is also awesome!
