I do it all the time.

Probably 90 percent of it is when I engage with you on here....

90% of what you do to fight hate is engage with me on here!?!

What a prat you are

Realistically, PK, you should be banned from this forum for being an absolute troll. You're always stalking TheCat around, only to get yourself triggered. It genuinely hurts my head trying to read & make sense of your garbage posts. Go take a walk.

It was the first post that mentioned smells and devil's lettuce (?) is that grass?

Why would you even ask that question ?

The Cat was just suggesting that dialogue with a racist might be more fruitful than business assassination.

i asked the question because i was curious as to what the person telling others how best to challenge hatred was doing themselves to challenge hatred

i understand now that 90% of what that person does is to engage with me on here

why are you asking me the question you've asked?

pk perhaps you misunderstood The Cat's comment:

?Would it not be better to engage this person? Attempt to prove how foolish, ill-informed, and prejudiced these views are...??

The Cat (IMO) is making a suggestion. Not telling anyone to do anything.

So he/she doesn't need a raft of empirical evidence and catalogue of historical examples just to qualify themselves to make a suggestion.

That's why I asked you the question I asked.

I'm glad that people have taken the time to engage with this post- the more the better I think.

I have attempted to engage with P J Carpet Cleaning but, as anticipated, he has not wanted to have a discussion.

I think the both approaches are useful. I am willing to be proactive in challenging racially motivated abuse. I don't care which group of people he was targeting with his comment "deportation of all" and so if, as he later stated, he meant "migrants coming from France" I am as angered as if he openly named black people......and personally suspect this is what he meant.

P J Carpet Cleaning should learn that their racial attacks and threatening words are not supported or tolerated. If their business suffers as a result then that is a life consequence.

In the past I have felt worried about standing up and doing something pro-active about racism. That's not what I want to do any more and I'm working hard to not be complicit when I see it before me.

Of course 99% of people would interpret it exactly as you suggest KK. But obviously whenever I post anything PK gets excited, and in PK's haste to label me a 'prat', he/she's just missed the questions marks in the sentence which imply its a suggestion/idea/topic for discussion, and came out looking like a prat him/herself.....

Anyway...apols to the OP that this threa has been somewhat hijacked by someone with no real interest in discussing the topic, but just with a desire to have a pop at me.

In reality if someone said that in front of me I'd just quietly take my business elsewhere which totally contrasts with my usual complaints for late delivery etc, when I loudly complain but do order again.

I suppose late delivery can be changed you see.

I started to read the thread. I will of course avoid PJ Carpet Cleaning*. But I very nearly didn't comment and haven't read the whole thread as it's become too tedious, so don't make too much of lots of thread views and very few comments.

*In the past we used a guy called Tony who I think has a long history of recommendations on here. A& something carpet cleaning? I'd make the effort to seek him out again for carpet cleaning - highly recommended.
