whatamess
Has anyone else had someone knocking on their door this evening? I didn't open the door to him as it was dark and late and seemed an odd reason to be going door to door... can anyone shed any light?? Only me!
We did have a door to door rep last eve. (Worlingham)But his ID was in order, he was from Love Film trying to drum up business for the postal DVD loan scheme.Pleasant chap doing a pretty tedious job ... guessing 90% turn down rate? Pretty soul destroying i would think. EmilyE
I had guy from Kings. Raising money for children/liver services/technology. He managed to irritate me, but I'm pretty sure it was genuine. The scheme is called 'together we can'. If you google it you get through to official looking info. whatamess
I have know idea what he had to do with kings college hospital... That's why I was a bit suspicious as why would they be knocking door to door. I given the fact that no one else on here had similar then that slightly more concerning! whatamess
Ah... I posted that at the same time. Glad someone else had them round. Didn't like the idea that someone might be just checking out who's in etc... Normally I open the door but something made me not... It's these dark nights! Mutrik
We had someone from King's a year or two ago, asking for money. To me it seemed odd that King's would have to go and knock on doors for money. He did seem genuine though (well at least for what I could tell) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26220-door-knocking-from-kings-college-hospital/#findComment-585380 Share on other sites
Pickle
I've had people fundraising for Kings knock on the door a few times in the last couple of years. I always say I don't like to sign up to anything at the door and ask for information to look at or website details, which the Kings people gave me willingly (many of the dodgy door to door types mutter an excuse and shuffle off). badass
Received a letter from Kings today asking for donations for a new CT Scanner as seen on 24hrs in A&E and said they were writing as hubby had been a patient recently to Kings. Scope were in the area on Monday I think it was early evening. I just politely told them I don't like to give at the door to which he replied " I'm not collecting money" I though yeah but your collecting bank details to take all my money, what's the difference?? If I gave to everyone that came round i'd be skint and I bet I wouldn't get any charity. uncleglen
We had some teenage lads knocking for the Catholic Church in Nunhead about 9pm a month ago. I didn't open the door and phoned the church the next day and the secretary said they never send people out. There are scammers all over the place and the knockers could be 'casing the joint'.
