Both tickets machines not working so i thought that they wont issue penalties...Wrong, got a ticket. Does anybody actually pay these penalties if machines aren't working? They are saying that you can still pay by phone..I shall just never visit that store again.

Take it up with both Sainsbury's and appeal. I've been arguing with Lewisham for years that they focus on shoppers who are a soft target but ignore those parking on double yellows at night, particularly by the banqueting hall. People who know what they are doing but don't care, particularly as they wont get caught. Incidentally this is a Lewisham thing, Sainsburys are an innocent party.

You should definitely challenge that one, Einar. We can't all be expected always to be out with phone and credit/debit card in hand. You should win but good luck anyway.

Absolutely, we should not need to have a smartphone to go shopping.
