Planning the first holiday with the baby, wanted to know if anyone has actually travelled with their Bugaboo Bee on a plane? If you have did you have to check it in with baggage or was it taken to plane doors?

I have seen lots of posts about good light strollers to take on traves but to save some money would like to get away with the bee ( if possible and practical)

Look forward to your responses!

Its fine to take the Bee on a plane! You can check it in with baggage if you want, and carry your baby around until you get on the plane, or you can take it to the gate and fold it up and hand it over when you board.

Bear in mind that if taking to the gate, you often have to fold the buggy up at security and put it through the scanner.

Yes, ours has been all the way to NZ and back, which is a total of 6 separate planes. We took ours right to the gate as had a few hours in transit, and checked it for our final internal flight in NZ. It's a great buggy for travelling with.
Yes we've done it lots of times. Not all airlines/airports let you take the buggy to the plane though so check this before you travel. Also being able to take the buggy to the gate doesn't always mean you then also get it straight back as you disembark, you may have to collect it with the luggage. Had a great flight from gatwick where they let us go though the 'assisted' security check as we had the buggy which meant no queuing and lots of people to help. Don't make my mistake and take baby forks or knives through security as they will be confiscated - que toddler meltdown...
Not with a bee but we once took a travel bag for our baby jogger - although it protected it it was quite a hassle to get to the gate and then have to put it in the bag (and carry bag around with us). Since travelled with our 2 part phil and teds, no bag, all fine...

We are travelling with a micralite in a bag and also a carseat in a sunshine kids bag. I'm glad we have both as everything does get thrown around a bit. If there are 2 of you travelling its not too much hassle getting it into the bag at the gate, though we have decided to just check he pram from now on and stick with the sling.

I think the sunshine kids carseat travel bag would fit the bee, by the way. It's huge.

Our stokke xplory had a bit snapped off it when we picked it up the other end.it was really sharp and I was nervous about using it.the airline was great and repaired it, but as it was Christmas we didn't get it back until we returned to the uk.they gave us a replacement buggy which took 5 days to show up, but it was pretty abysmal and our 1 year old wouldn't sit (never mind sleep) in it. So we had no buggy for the three weeks :(. I don't know if there are bits that tend to get broken off thee bee (the airlines said they had the same thing happen on loads of stokkes), but I would be nervous if we still really needed a buggy on trips.sorry to give a negative story but it can happen and it sucked big time! Maybe you could put some bubble wrap on any vulnerable clips and cross your fingers!

    • As Vladi said in his post "The Fifth". Will Trump even complete his term in office before someone does away with him. At this rate the rest of the World hate him, the leaders of the nations have distain for him, maybe his aim is to divide up the world between the USA, Russia and China, with Europe no longer being an Allie of the US.Β  However the only reason Trump is behaving in the way he is, is to stop spending money on non US related issues and hence driving all the money back to the US. As he says he "wants to make America great again". Personally he scare the ebiegibies out of me. What's the odds we'll be at war by the end of 2025, or the three super powers will be at war. Which ever way you cut it, the world has become a much more scary and dangerous place.Β
