MrsNina
Hello! We moved new to the area (Forest Hill) and I'm looking for a soft play or baby gym activity for my 7month old son! I only seem to find out about the Ackroyd Centre (only once every month?). Does any of you know of anything around the area? I'm happy to go Sydenham, East Dulwich, Honour Oak, Brockley etc :-)PS I was on the EdTots website (which I LOVE!) - only finding primarily music classes (which we also do already)!thanks youuuu!!! hellosailor
There is a good soft play at Beckenham Spa, about 10-15 mins drive from Forest Hill, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be that great for a 7 month old, do you mean proper soft play or more like a playgroup with mats and bean bags etc? Saffron
Baby Sensory in Brockley. Crystal Palace 1 o'clock club. Boppin Bunnies is fabulous, but not sure what location is closest to you. Check their website? Will the new pool complex in forest hill have a softplay? xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26147-soft-play-baby-gym-in-forest-hill-area/#findComment-584159 Share on other sites

gebbjane
I would second toddler world at crystal palace leisure centre for that age. Runs on a Monday-Thursday 10-12. Also had friends that did tumble tots which runs from one of the church halls in Dulwich village. I also went to a nice group on a Monday afternoon at the Albrighton. Centre on dog kennel hill opp Sainsburys - they had soft play mats out and a ball pit and is for babies under 18 months. SR
Different type of activity but at around the 7 mth mark we started sing and sing in east dulwich (goose green). Today my 2.5 yr old asked for more with the sign saying "more like a baby". We loved it,the "more" sign was a brilliant first communication she would come into the kitchen and make it, letting us know she wanted food or water. MrsNina
That's all fantastic!! Thanks so much for all these recommendations! I think the new forest Hill pool has no soft play, only swimming. PS the beckenham soft play I go with my four year old, it's great - a little bit crazy for the 7month old like you say ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26147-soft-play-baby-gym-in-forest-hill-area/#findComment-584536 Share on other sites
Nat27
I can recommend 'Bubbly Bees'. It's on every Tuesday morning in term time. First session starts at 9.30 but the next one starts at 10.45am. There are soft play blocks and a small trampoline. An area is also set aside with toys for the little one's who aren't as mobile and the ladies who run it do a sing song at the end and often get out another activity like sponge balls/basketball net or hoops. It does cost ?5.50 which is a bit steep to pay every week but you do get a cup of tea/coffee included. I think it's a lot more relaxed than the soft play centers which are better for the older children. It's located in the old scout hut on greendale, next to the entrance of JAGS, at the traffic lights on corner of Townley road. chica9
In addition to the places already mentioned, you could try:- the brilliant softplay in the Salmon youth centre in Bermondsey - 3 sessions a week, free and v easy to get to from Forest Hill- the sessions (Monday and Friday I think) at the Ackroyd Centre which aren't badged as 'baby gym' but have lots of stuff to play with/on;- the session at St Saviour's church on Tuesday mornings (called Busy Bees or something similar I think? njc97
There used to be baby gym on Fridays at Honor Oak Children's centre and according to this leaflet there are also ones at Deptford and New Cross. But I'd ring first (not least because they used to insist you booked, even when it wasn't busy)http://www.lewishamhomes.org.uk/OneStopCMS/Core/CrawlerResourceServer.aspx?resource=9A79E567-EB5D-4529-B1CC-70EB736E3BFA&mode=link&guid=1ab3cac6616d438bb433addb4c14d1fc Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26147-soft-play-baby-gym-in-forest-hill-area/#findComment-585180 Share on other sites
