Hello. Just looking for some advice. We're thinking of having a combined naming ceremony/first birthday for our daughter in the spring (lots of time to plan - just trying to be organised for once!)

Has anyone done this? If so, did you do a humanist ceremony or use the services at a local town hall? And where did you hold it, if it was a humanist ceremony? We're looking for a venue around E Dulwich/Denmark Hill/Herne Hill for around 30 people. We'll consider somewhere catered or a place with facilities for us to cater it ourselves.

And finally, how did it go down with your friends and family? Having read the info on the humanist website, it seems perfect for us. But it will be a first for both our families - most tend to get christened or do nothing - and I am wondering what they will think of it all!

Thanks in advance.

    • The barbers do have clients - I'm one of them! The BBC article is bobbins giving coverage to the failing NCA. The only specific example of an actual barber shop owner convicted of an offence is Hewa Rahimpur...who, err, didnt actually own a barber at the time. He owned and ran a sweet shop: https://news.sky.com/story/hewa-rahimpur-gang-leader-who-smuggled-up-to-10-000-migrants-across-channel-jailed-12986202 This is the second time recently when a local small business has been accused on here of money laundering on zero evidence. And yet half of East Bloody Dulwich spends their lives working for the biggest money launderers in the world - the law firms, accountancies, wealth managers, property developers and estate agents of London...

    • They all charge the same though. None of them are "cut" price.
    • Amazing clean up job done too. You wouldn't know this had happened if you walked past today. All credit to Veolia for doing what they do best I suppose!!!
