Missing dog in our garden! Barry Road

Recommended Posts

Hi all, for an update:

We have taken her to the vet, she is microchipped and registered to an address in Hampshire, she is 5 years old and called Mika. The vets have the owners phone number & email address and are chasing, we've left our details with the vet if they get back to us.

We are chasing up local vets to see if anyone has called about her.

We have registered her to the DogLost website.

We DONT want to call the dog warden as if she is not rehomed she will be put down.

We will be calling Battersea by the end of the day if noone comes forward.

PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND SEE IF WE CAN FIND THE OWNER OF THIS DOG.

I actually saw this lovely dog, with what I assumed to be the owner, 2 days ago.

If memory serves me right, he was turning in, where Barry Rd & Underhill Rd meet {where the notice board is}.

He caught my eye, because I saw a big black dog bounding freely down the road, as if he'd just been taken off his leash.

The guy was tall, black, short hair {may have been wearing a cap}, with the leash bundled up in one hand.

Yes, you cannot assume the person she was seen with was her owner.

So glad you took her to vet and not Dog Warden or RSPCA. If no owner identified Battersea or Dogs Trust would be better.

She looks lively. Clearly a great temperament to allow herself to be handled by strangers.

Seconded on avoiding places that will put her down if not rehomed. She is chipped so I think it is worth hanging on for a few days to see if the registered owner can be found. She may well have been stolen at some point too, but if the registered owner rehomed her, there might be a lead there too.

    • It's all right, I think I was replying to cwjlawrence, so I quoted him
    • Do you know this cat? I saw him/ her tonight in East Dulwich and am concerned it may be someone's lost pet. Skinny, dirty and very friendly, sitting on a busy corner asking for attention.
    • Finches Emporium in Forest Hill is prob best in the area. I’ve used all but one of the others mentioned. All good tbh
    • Hi  Can I just add my voice here - I have been a swimmer with tiger sharks off and on for 20 years - my daughters have learnt to swim there. It's a unique club where you can swim in parallel with your children. they cater for beginner to advanced. Its friendly and inclusive and just a fantastic community club. its weathered the storms of the Alleyn's pool refurbishment and COVID and had to re-grow as a club each time and has flourished just because of its unique offer. I cannot think of another place where I can train as I did tonight at the same time as my daughter swims and improves. Please can we band together to try and to save this long running south London club that has been run by two wonderful people for so long - I can't even think about the lost opportunities for young coaches as you often see swimmers graduate to teaching the younger ones over time. BTW Alleyn's you might want to think how this looks to this community many of whom at least know current or potential alumni Anyway rant over please lets save this club
