Abe_froeman
Isn't he moxons too? They often seem to help move the trailer with their van at the end of the market. As regards the shop itself, it is often quite midweek around lunchtime and onwards into the afternoon. You could always pop in then and ask them how to buy scallops and what they will charge. binkylilyput
I was disappointed with Sopers on my last visit. Fish really looked a bit tired. It was at the tail end of lockdown and also later on in the day but nevertheless...?I chose not to buyAlways had a good experience with Moxons. You get what you pay for and a long queue is often a good sign. Lots of customers with a fast turnover of fish is no bad thing Scallops are pricey. Order them in advance then go collect Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/260241-where-to-buy-large-scallops-locally/page/2/#findComment-1442262 Share on other sites

Abe_froeman
How do prices compare between Moxons and Sopers? I've not been to the latter so only compare Moxons with William Rose when for an expensive meal in and a beef steak is normally more tempting (and less expensive) than a fish steak for me! DulwichFox
Just to put everyone out of their misery.. I am Not desperate to Buy Scallops. I have lasted nearly 70 years without them. I watch a lot of cooking programs on TV and just though I might try them sometime. To be Honest I think the moment has long passed by. ianr
Take care.
