the-e-dealer
I've bought a portable TV coat-hanger after my gardener cut me off from my Roof Coat Hanger. I have 116 channels Anyone got more than that? Lowlander
My experience of indoor ariels in London is that you get everything, and friends and family for whom I've set up freeview say they're happy. From memory we have 80 odd TV channels, so with the radio ones thrown in that sounds about right. mikeb
Following a revamp of my wiring, I get 98 TV and I think about 20 radio. I was quite pleased with that before I saw your 116 channels and I'm now wondering what delights I'm missing. The Minkey
I have hardly watched TV since the Digital Switchover ruined my reception of all the channels I used to watch: No BBC or ITV channels, no Film4 etc. I have a lot of channels listed but most are unwatchable either due to picture quality or content. I have the same indoor ariel I had prior to the change. Anyone else found their reception degraded? The Minkey
It's been repositioned in every location its lead will allow. No joy. I've retuned the TV many times too. Callie
You get all the freeview channels you're supposed to get in ED. You can check the freeview website against what you've got to see if they are all there, if not, try retuning. You need an outdoor aerial installed for decent reception, forget the indoor ones. the-e-dealer
Also some channels like RED Button are not listed. All I am asking is how many people actually get.Looking at this website I see there are approx 133 channels in Totalhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_digital_terrestrial_television_channels_%28UK%29 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25996-re-freeview-how-many-channels-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-582330 Share on other sites
mikeb
Until I replaced some of my wiring, I wasn't able to get any HD channels and quite a few others had disappeared as well. As TED says, how many channels you actually get is not to do with how many are broadcast. the-e-dealer
Well to be fair the number broadcast IS the starting point but it can be affected by many things. Interference, poor aeriel, badly positioned, poor cable / plugs/ using wrong multiplex, interference, faulty equipment Etc. Bic Basher
Is anyone also getting a neighbouring region? If for example you find that you're not getting London news on BBC1 or ITV, it could mean that you're getting it from another transmitter further away than Crystal Palace. As for me, I use an indoor aerial and get all the Freeview channels except HD. reneet
How do you know how many you have. My telly shows 700 odd something in the guide but just a few of those are active. How to know is going through each one and counting unless someone else has a brighter idea. It needed to be done twice on different dates .....I wouldn't have thought the aerial needed moving, mine certainly didn't.
