KidKruger
A bit like the opposite of burning-down allotment sheds. Some tinder and a match then boom you have a fire in seconds, but hours of satisfaction watching it burn (unless the fire brigade arrives). OscarM
Yes Andy - our next door neighbour has been experiencing this. In the mornings between about 8-9am, Underhill Road (East Dulwich end). I don?t mind if someone is desperate enough to need 1 pint but taking them both is not nice. If I couldn?t have my breakfast tea I would camp out to catch them 😂 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/259818-stolen-milk-delivery/page/2/#findComment-1440661 Share on other sites
J27
We've had things delivered by our milkman stolen by foxes - bread, margarine etc - until I hung up a bag in the porch so they couldn't reach them. We also have a cool box - with a well fitting lid - for the milk bottles. This is safe enough on the doorstep, against foxes. But in your case it seems unlikely that it was foxes - I doubt even the cleverest fox could steal two glass bottles of milk, without breaking and spilling them! So it does sound like humans :-( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/259818-stolen-milk-delivery/page/2/#findComment-1440665 Share on other sites

Nigello
How come milkpersons think it?s ok to stop-start in diesel vehicles in the dead of night? If yours does that, consider ditching him in solidarity with people who like to sleep (ie. everyone). ianr
A lot earlier than that. Milk float was the term used. There's a Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk_float and plenty of photos around, though I can't find one of the pedestrian controlled ones with, iirc, a control and steering arm on the front.Do the current deliveries come in bottles or cartons? In the video clip above it looks to me more like a carton that the fox is removing. I wonder if they could cope with a glass bottle. Lollipop
I live in Dunstans Road and had this problem a couple of years ago. I asked the milkman to leave the milk out of sight on not on the doorstep. No more milk was taken.I also have had my milk delivered to the wrong house recently. Luckily the owner knew I got milk delivered and knocked on my door with the bottle!
