xavi
Hi all,Does anyone know if it's possible to get a private antibody test done in ED? I think I had CV-19 back in March and want to get the antibody test to find out. You can get the home test kits but they are apparently less reliable. If anyone has seen anywhere offering them (for a fee), please let me know. shelly2106
For mild conditions some people's antibodies don't last long so don't be surprised if your test comes back negative Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/259794-antibody-test-in-ed/#findComment-1441635 Share on other sites
EastdulwichNewbie
Yes, I know three symptomatic couples where one partner was positive and one negative. The nurse who took the blood said this as there case at the hospital he worked at too. east_dulwich__mama
If you go for any other test - e.g FBC they will include antibody on NHS. Check with your GP.I have had really bad experiences at Women?s Health Dulwich; definitely avoid. Guest
My GP keeps on testing me for other purposes and so I had various C19 and C19 antibodies test done (always returned negative) for the last year but I was told the antibodies test is not very reliable. If you search 'covid antibodies how long do they last' you find several studies on the matter. It looks like the antibodies tend to decline or disappear in any case after 4 / 8 months.
