I'm not sure this fits in here (or really, if it fits anywhere on the Forum) but I thought there must be a mum somewhere in ED who knows the answer to this. Long ago, waaaaaaaay before the kids arrived, I had the kind of job that required a lot of socialising/networking in the evening, award ceremonies, premieres, etc. So, I have a few designer evening gowns (inc some never worn) that I am looking to sell but I don't quite know where (they are not Ebay material I don't think). Does anyone have any idea how to go about this type of thing? Is there a reputable place/website for this?

Thanks for any pointers.

I might actually disagree about eBay. What exactly are the dresses, brand wise? You may well get extremely good prices, especially on the items with tags still intact. I regularly sell on ebay, I also watch designer goods and one off pieces very often. When you can display to the best of your ability that an item is genuine through tagging (even better with a receipt) then you actually can make amazing money on designers through eBay, even without in cases, some people literally will buy anything. Prada and Gucci items shipping from China etc regularly sell into the hundreds, I'd be very weary of that, especially with no authenticity certificate or such. Just make sure you track your parcel and list the item to the best of your knowledge. Selling to a worldwide audience will increase your views and watchers too, for designers especially in Europe. Especially if your items would now be classed as vintage, and aren't available to buy any longer!

Paraphernalia looks good but then it depends on how much they will pay you for your items, and how much they charge to sell/commission?! Would need to look in to before deciding..

Hi all, thanks for the suggestions! In my research I also found this website www.champagne&lemonade.com, which seems good too.

Right, I need to check all the options and see. Might even get a taste for it and start emtying wardrobes; which would actually be quite cathartic, I imagine!

    • Ash tree branch. Before speculating as to cause and whether it was deliberate or not, it’s worth remembering that there is ash dieback around. Also tree branches fall off without warning, especially if there’s internal rot or disease which is not outwardly apparent. And yes, there are regular checks done on the health of the trees in the Wood.
    • Dulwich folk well particularly ED folk have more money than certainly me - £4.00 for bread and butter? That is outrageous and I certainly would not pay £30 for an organic chicken - weird one is pate and runner beans combo. Don’t think butcher on Lordship Lane charges that but each to their own - live in Devon now and no way is an organic chicken that price!!
    • I was sitting on the park bench yesterday opposite north Dulwich station and found an Apple Watch hanging off the corner. I have brought it home and charged it hoping that someone might use ‘find my’ to locate it. Equally happy to be contacted this way to return it to the rightful lender / they just need to say what colour/kind of strap it has. If you can think of a better way to return it / find its owner then please advise. And/or feel free to share on other local fora.
