We have used the BJCM since my daughter was born and have been very happy with it. Baby #2 is due in March by which time #1 will be 2y 2months-ish and we would ideally like to use a combination of buggy, buggy board and sling for the 2 of them. I would like to avoid a double buggy (tandem or single width) as the logistics of getting in and out of our place will be awkward.

Can anyone recommend a buggy board that worked well for them with this particular buggy? There are quite mixed reviews out there, so it's pretty confusing! Oh, and the board must fit with buggy seat fully reclined for the newborn.

Thanks in advance!

What a coincidence! I just bought one yesterday! Its the Bumprider and so far I think its fantastic. It sticks out far enough for daughter to stand behind the handle and with the buggy laying down. If I want to go fast I can hold the handle with one hand and walk to the side (so I don't knock my feet on the board). It seems to stear well and so far goes well over the bumpy ed pavements. I would def ask her to get off for kerbs that aren't dropped though.

My daughter is 3.5 and a really good walker so I've only now got it (son 10 months). I'm hoping it will save us a bit on petrol as now I can walk to things a bit further away. The best price I saw online was about 55 pounds (amazon), but yesterday I just happened to be in the baby shop at this end of Peckham (Rye Lane) and they had it for 50 (and no postage of course).

Hello Srisky. As with most things about the bjcm, it works quite well for me at 5'3 but is not that easy for 6' dh. He finds it awkward to stear. Saying that, our daughter is pretty tall for her age, maybe a bit more like the average 5 year old, who wouldn't be on a buggy board anyway.
I like it - v v easy to install, and once I'd figured out to use it with my son standing so he's inside the handlebar, if you see what i mean, it didn't mean I had to walk with it slightly to one side, and can walk reasonably normally. But I too am 5'3 and my taller husband doesn't find it so easy. I think you'd get that with any buggyboard though.
Thanks, Sunbob and Belle. I am of a similar height(5'4-ish!) and my daughter is probably a small-average 2y old so hopefully either buggy board should work. I think I will see if I can find a retailer that will let me try them out and look out for a second-hand one, in case she hates it. It's very helpful to know that both types have worked well with the BCJM - thank you!
