As an aside, a dappy, rich friend gave me some Creme de la Mer that she bought in New York for $200 and was too intense for her skin. The odd thing is, it has the same texture and smells exactly the same as Nivea which retails for about ?3.75 in Sainsbury's.

Naff things that I like?

Watching first series of Mission Impossible on FiveUS some afternoons when I am supposed to be working at home.

Wait, it wasn't naff.

Horlicks of a cold evening, tucked up and cuddled up in bed.

Ooohh I love Nivea! And E45 cream. And Oil of Ulay (do you mind, ULAY!) bath cream!

I watched a great show before Christmas in the USA called "The biggest Looser" about people trying to loose weight at a boot camp - I lost an entire day of my life, eating cheesey puffs and drinking Bud Light. I came home half a stone heavier - I had a great time!

The should make lots more shows just like that one over here... Car crash TV, you can't beat it.

Kalamity, Giles B., has an array of knitwear which would embarrass Noel Edmonds. Also, he is a former Conservative MP.

He is also founder of the teddy bear museum.

Nuff said.

I quite like the sound of the sandwiches. Ugg boots are good for keeping your feet warm - but as a fashion thing...no. I esp hate them when the soles are really worn and they make the wearer look pigeon heeled.

    • Using the smart CCTV cameras is your best strategy - particularly if they have adequate infra-red capability. Setting them to be triggered by line crossing or areas of intrusion is worthwhile setting up as is linking them to a PIR sensor. The PIR could also be used to activate a sounder but that might upset your other neighbours. I have a few cameras around our property and I enjoy reviewing the recordings and apart from foxes and birds, I catch the occasional opportunistic thief on camera - like this one last Tuesday. If you need any help, please drop me a PM. S7.mp4
    • Not in Ed, but I was in NE England over the weekend and saw an otter in the wild! Never seen one before, it was quite lovely.
    • Well unless the heron got them later, there were the  two cootlets. I think some others of this year's babies must have escaped the heron. Many years ago (and possibly still, though I never see them any more) there was a whole heron family on the island  - mum, dad and youngster. I don't know how long herons live. Maybe this one is the grown up youngster.
    • Neighbourhood police, they often get called in for neighbourhood 'disputes', although if you have been Southwark ASBU perhaps you have already explored this
