Hi Everyone

I have become aware of various blocks of flats with maggot infestations in Southwark where the council have been contacted but have not taken any action. Does anyone know which avenues I can explore to get this dealt with by the local council rapidly?

Thanks in Advance

Oh how awful they spread fast to we had that in Dulwich because neighbours kept putting rotten food in blue green bins. Went out found all uo walls coming into hallway.

Avoided by using food caddy.

Easily as they lock.

But obviously in your case block flats do not use food caddie system I guess.

Definitely council need sort urgently.

Residents must go down place bins for now till cleaned.

Hot weather they breed fast from flues to maggots also when rains. After hot few, days.

Residents have been going down and the council have been informed almost 2 weeks ago about blocked bin chutes but they are just awful (and really rather rude!)

Luckily speaking to our MP has helped and kicked things into gear - We now have working bin chutes but still have maggots because the council hasn't cleaned them after almost 4 days. (I have tried everything I can find on Google but for as long as the bins were blocked the number was increasing at an alarming rate.

Helen Hayes is an excellent MP.

The creativity behind the build is to be commended. It’s always in use and there is normally a young woman in a high viz clearly rubbish and picking up trash, so it’s well looked after. The fact that parents bring their little ones here to use the skate park shows it has a purpose in the community.  Unfortunately very late at night it’s used as a “party drinking zone” probably by people completely unrelated to the park. Last Saturday at 2am the music was blaring and you could hear the noise - incidents like this do cause an issue but it’s not the parks fault.  We’ve already had 1 homeless chap living in that space and setting fire to it and that’s my main concern, that there will be a huge fire and someone will be injured or killed. Maybe Dulwich Estate wants it burnt down and declared derelict so then they can do what they want with the land - as I understand there is a “will covenant” regarding what they can do with it.
    • Unfortunately someone stole two boxes from our front porch today on Limesford Rd, opposite Nunhead cemetery. Across two visits, spanning about 5 minutes, he took two parcels that were left on our doorstep before heading off on his bike. I saw it happen via our doorbell camera but missed him by a couple of minutes. Neither contained anything that valuable, but it was incredibly brazen.  Hoping someone recognises him - or can advise on the best way to file this with the Met?
