---------------------

CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 SITUATION and cat adoptions.

Following Government Guidance our Homing Centres are closed to visitors but we are able to rescue and rehome cats whilst following regulations.

The coronavirus pandemic does mean that we have had to alter our usual homing procedures. Pre-coronavirus we would meet potential adopters in their homes (home visit) this was an informal visit to provide advice about caring for cats or kittens e.g health care, feeding, settling in and also an opportunity for us to feel reassured that you could provide a good home. We have replaced a physical home visit with a video call via What'sApp or similar to provide the same advice and so that you can also show us the cat relevant areas of your home e.g garden, location of a cat flap etc.

Following a successful home visit we now match cats and homes, you cannot visit cats or kittens in the rescue centre or our foster homes, instead we can provide photos and short video's of the cats and discuss them in more depth. If you wish to go ahead we deliver the cats / kittens to your home as a door step handover. Adoption paperwork is completed as far as possible in advance over the phone. You then adopt the cats or kittens on a trial adoption basis. Despite this being a new and unusual way to adopt cats we have so far found that adoptions are successful.

You can also support Celia Hammond by buying food off their Amazon wish list or pick them as your selected charity on smile.amazon.co.uk. Like most charities, they?ve been hard hit by COVID-19 - a double whammy of fewer opportunities to raise money and an uptick in animals that need help.

Appreciate not everyone uses Amazon but if you do, it?s an easy way to help a (fairly) local charity.

    • If you speak to the reception you should be able to get a free gym induction as part of your membership. Not enough people actually get guidence on how to use the equipment properly and therefore either don't get the best out of it or injure themselves. After the refurb I booked an induction so I learnt how to adjust the new equipment because despite attending there for about 10years I was used to the old machines and equipment and at my age (64) I really did'nt want to faff around not knowing how adjust things correctly. As regards advance booking classes I know for sure you used to be able to book a class 10days in advance but not sure about 2 weeks. Good luck in the gym!
    • Wtf. The word in Greek is the “n” word for Black women. Why would someone open a business under this name? People should boycott instead of commenting on food.
    • Good on you for doing something rather than some who would prefer to complain about what others are doing.  Enjoyed the read and look forward to seeing more of the meals from the area.   There's are some great substack newsletters out there for local news and exploration. Love to see it.
    • Pleased  to see that the original very long and very  negative post starting this thread has been edited down to one sentence 😂
