We have the same dilema with out (will be then 16 month old). We are thinking Dubai, bit dubious of flight length but the carriers are great - so thinking 6 hours on Emirates would be ok? Also the service out there is amazing, and they love kids and are well set up for them. Its pricey though and some people are anti Dubai as its not v pretty. We just want mid 20C with lots of pools for the baba!

Cyprus I reckon would be reliable for sunshine and pool action in November. We were there earlier this year and stayed at Almyra and Anassa, both of which are extremely well set up for babies / toddlers. 2 hour time difference (in the right direction - our 2.5yo slept 8.30pm to 9am), BA fly direct (4ish hours), no lengthy transfers.

Neither are cheap though.

Friends tell me that the Madinat complex in Dubai is particularly nice / good for families. Otherwise Desert Palm, set just outside of Dubai, has pool villas in which you could really be anywhere...

It probably won't help you for November as there is no longer any resorts open then but I used to work for Neilson Active Holidays (part of Thomas Cook), as a windsurfing instructer and children's club staff.

Massive recommendation especially for families to go on a Neilson holiday.

Feel free to email with any questions! I worked for them for a number of seasons, mostly summer in 3 different Greek resorts but did a winter too as a Chalet Host in Courchevel, France.

I now work as a nanny in Dulwich.

Canary islands? We went when SF was 9months in at November time and we're off again with ds1 and he'll be 3months. Not flush with culture but pretty much guaranteed sunshine and 25 degrees, reasonably prices flights and

    • There's been a spate of phone snatching around East Dulwich station and along Lordship Lane. But don't let that put you off the area, these things come and go. I've never had an issue late at night in the areas you talk about and I've been around here for 18yrs (before I moved I had the same concerns as you). Go visit your areas late at night at different times for your own peace of mind (I did)

    • So sorry to hear this. Our bike was stolen from outside Dulwich Library earlier this month. We had a D Lock and they still got through. Probably the same person who’s just cruising up and down the lane. I hope you find it.
    • Hi, I would like to raise some awareness around East Dulwich especially on Lordship lane.  Today my bike electric bike was stolen from in front of my house between the hours of 9:00 and 10:45. If anyone see anything I would be very grateful.  Please do not use a chain lock to lock your bike. Preferably a d-lock. My bike was double locked with two chains and they still manage to take it. Be careful and be aware of Thief.  Here are some pictures of my bike. If you see or hear anything I would really appreciate it.
