civilservant
emc's not smug, just sad, she protests too much. She's doing it to herself, it's her face after all But if she then wants the NHS to put things right for free if it goes wrong, I will have a HUGE problem with her. And I've already got a problem with the ethics of her GP friends. edited to add:Saffron's quite right about therapeutic uses of botox, but there seems also to be some interesting new research about the impact of Botox on human cognition. Basically, facial muscle paralysis impairs cognition. I've lifted from Wikipedia - Botox hinders the ability to understand language. According to the lead researcher in this study, 'botox causes a kind of mild, temporary, cognitive blindness to information in the world, social information about the emotions of other people.'So botox may not be the best tool for emc to have in her husband-hunting arsenal. emc
Oooh, it's like looking in a mirror...seriously though I think you'll find that the Bride of Wildenstein has had an estimated ?2 million worth of cosmetic surgery, mostly facelifts and apparently asked for her face to be modelled on cat when she had them so maybe just a tad more extreme than botox...but hey it's a slippery slope isn't it? Fast forward me in ten years etc. Night, night. zeban
Sorry but you kind of brought it on yourself emc. To imply that leaving your lines be and not injecting them with poison is 'letting yourself go' as though botox is the same as eating right and exercising is pretty pathetic, and I don't think you were joking! I actually can't think of anything more depressing than 'botox parties'. I mean ffs! you're obviously aiming them at women too. I think you'ld have to be pretty shallow to go to and enjoy a botox and fillers party! If you've got lines like Gordon Ramsey then maybe botox would be a godsend, otherwise I'd stay well clear. KidKruger
You know what plenty guys think older (looking) women are hot. Though admittedly maybe not aged like 85+.Isn't the whole botox thing setting yourself up for a fall when the technology fails you ?Someone earlier mentions the NHS costs for repairs etc, this rings true for a cousin of mine who (aged 23 and absolutely gorgeous with lovely figure and personality too) had a boob job, this year she had to have them taken out because of the scare from the (French ?) implant manufacturer, NHS said they'd remove for free but would not replace the implants, so my cousin has to get her now retired parents to fork out of their life savings for the new implants and insertion procedure, like ?4000. Beware what you stick in your body ! *Bob*
Well I suppose there could be a few hot 82 year-olds out there for you, Kid, but not many. 75.. you'd have a few more results, but let's get real, slim pickings. Things start to pick up around 60, for sure. Around the 40 mark, you're really cooking.Hang on - I think I've spotted a pattern. Ted Max
My ballsack is perfect. My personal physician can barely contain his glee at its heft, smoothness and symmetry. Yet even he, and even I, have primped and pimped the odd stray flap of scrotal unsightliness out of there, even though it's completely unnecessary and, as I've pointed out, my stone-casement really is a thing of wonder. Therefore, I'm thinking that all the absolute scrungers out there who haven't changed their jockstrap for a decade, and can be seen cluttering up the swingparks of ED in their 20 year old band Tee-shirts, could probably do with a bit of the old lift and separate in the onion bag department. So what I'm suggesting is this: we all assemble round *Bob*'s, get the orchid-holsters out and have a party, yeah? PM me if interested. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25702-a-demand-for-botox-in-east-dulwich/page/2/#findComment-578687 Share on other sites
*Bob*
There'll be no meddling with my family jewels, Ted. In any case - they're only ever handled under the cover of darkness - following Strictly, every other week. Ted Max
But my pill pouch is a thing of objective beauty, *Bob*. Think of two pebbles smoothed and shaped by the clear spring waters of the upper Tweed, encased in linen parchment and varnished, only slightly, with honey. That sort of thing. Ridgley
I never understood why people want to inject their faces it does not look any different, you can tell when someone has had it done there face is so stiff they cannot laugh and it does not make them look younger we all have to work with what you got. womanofdulwich
The fact that emc is a journalist puts me on edge. I can't help but be very cautious about this thread. emc
Yes, that's right, I am a journalist but this has nothing to do with that I promise you, hand on heart. A genuine enquiry that's all, knew I would get a fair bit of flak, that's to be expected and is not a problem. Huguenot
Good for you emc, balls of steel etc. :)Doesn't get away from the fact that I find this a sad practice on so many levels. The party thing seems really odd - nervously chatting women periodically getting up to be serviced by a man in a white coat with a needle, hoping that physical mutliation for an improved look will help them better cater to societies prejudices. katie1997
er ...a bit odd to assume its a MAN in a white coat. I can think of a few people I know who'd happily go along with this but personally I find the whole botox+party concept unpalatable.edit: note to self, must read the whole thread cover to cover before commenting in future. I stand corrected, Huguenot, as the OP does say its a bloke doing the 'servicing' - apologies.
