Creaking staircase repairs - anyone done it? Recommendations?

We have a Victorian era house with a very tired and creaky original staircase and two children who aren't getting any lighter on their feet.

Have you had a similar staircase repaired/refurbished? Any recommendations for someone who can do the job (and any advice on what is involved and likely costs) would be gratefully received.

Thank you.

Having worked on a couple of old staircases myself, you?ll need to get the backs off the staircase runs to access the guts inside and make whatever adjustments, then you can either fit panelling or replaster to repair back of staircase.

In my current Victorian house (4 staircases) I?ve just left it and plenty creaks are plainly audible.

You may find the staircase nearer the ground floor is the creakiest as it?s the most used and (if you can see the wood) the treads will show most erosion.

YouTube will have relevant clips on this.
