I was just about to make the same observation. Not too sharp...

Oh I can't think of anything more commercial or ghastly! I have one round the corner from where I work. The food is overpriced and in my view sub standard quality. I would rather have an independent Japanese outlet. There are loads in soho and on Piccadilly and they are generally very good with a more authentic feel.

People who don't share your taste in restaurants are miserable bastards?

That's nice.

Usually I don't particularly agree with David about mass produced food, but on this occasion, a very big What David Said!

Only been once, and was looking forward to it. I left wondering why everyone was still raving about it having eaten the same stuff I'd just eaten.

Wagamama 10/12 years ago fitted the bill - the seating arrangements, the ordering and the food all seemed different and FUN - great for a meal before or after a film or whatever - even then it wasn't a destination restaurant. Now so many restaurants have similar arrangements that it is no longer original or fun and therefore needs to rely on the quality of food to get repeat custom................

Wagamamas is ok at best, at times of need it does a job.

It really wouldn't work in LL though.

Can someone reading this thread who is thinking of setting up a food business please open a Vietnamese or noodle restaurant (specifically Ramen) Something like Momofoku Noodle Bar would be amazing.

Case closed.

Hm a bit like a Japanese person saying "Sandwiches are awful. Tasteless bread for people with no imagination and creativity"

Have you ever eaten a sandwich in Japan? They're awful - nothing like the proper english sandwiches, you know.
