Earl Aelfheah
I think the PM and his cabinet have behaved appallingly, but the 'boo for boris' idea is not helpful in my opinion. fishbiscuits
"Boo for Boris" is pretty lame. It's just another excuse to flash your political cred in front of your neighbours. He's an appalling man and a crap PM, but outside of pantomime season, booing people doesn't really achieve much. JohnL
Strangely when I clap for the NHS I try to do it quietly not loudly. There's really no reason I do it other than to go out on the balcony and feel others are out there. doody
I'm appalled by Boris and his chums, but I do think it would be a shame to hear the negative, aggressive sound of booing after the quite uplifting and positive sounds of clapping at a time when lots of us are feeling stressed already. Might even frighten some people who don't know what its about... malumbu
The question is why boo? It seems to be a British way of showing disapproval. So what is wrong with booing, particularly if it is clear who you are booing at (a little late to show disapproval of Dylan for going electric). Not sure why there are so many po faced people on line. Cheer if you wish. Dylan denying there is a problem, sounds familiarHere's another clip, this time of young people showing disapproval at a former PM - as featured at the end of a documentary on protest music by the Great John Peel Also had the pleasure of being at the Bastille Day celebrations at the French Embassy when the then Foreign Secretary got boo'd by a very exclusive audience shortly after the referendum, during his mummbly speech Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/253034-thursdays-boo-for-boris/page/2/#findComment-1421756 Share on other sites
