Looking for a paediatric optician

Has anyone had any experience of Opticians for children in the area please?

I have tried to get a referal from the doctor and school but it's taking too long.

No, sorry, only the Kings orthoptists, who I thought were brilliant. Could you ring up and find out how long it's likely to be?

Both my children (age 4 and 2) recently had their eyes tested at Paine and Hunter on Lordship Lane. We got an appointment quickly and the Optometrist was great with them - very patient and good at explaining what he was doing at every step. My kids thought it was great fun, which was not the reaction I was expecting from them!

After recommendation on here went to Charles at Hunter and Paine on Lordship Lane for my 5yr old. He was fantastic both at explaining to me what was going on and keeping my son involved and at ease. Really impressed and a check-up is free on the nhs for children.

You can book in at the Townley Road clinic for the King's Orthoptists I think. That's where I saw them with my son.
