Is anyone else aware of a constant low pithed humming noise- is 24/7 in the Lordship Lane/Court Lane area ?

Ive been hearing it for months and after excluding all household causes by switching off the power, I have been through a similar process with both my neighbours. Now, because its otherwise so quiet I realise I can hear it in the garden too....I did think it may be me or my hearing but my neighbour is being similarly troubled. any thoughts please ?

It is undoubtedly the ?Thought Police?. They have been active throughout the local area for some time now. They have been instrumental in transmitting Covid 19 via 5G masts and recently forced us to vote for Brexit and Boris Johnson. I say ?Resist. Continue to support your local publicans?.

thank you- in seeing quite a lot of that on Google- im suspecting it may be a generator or pump of some type some distance away

Seriously - there are numerous worldwide reports of low pitched hums. Sometimes it?s far away machinery, sometimes traffic and sometimes - nobody knows. Unfortunately I can?t help here but only sympathise.

Bees collectively make a surprisingly loud hum, particularly with less traffic noise (cancelled out by petrol strimmers, power tools and the like)

Some insects and other animals can make noises in a synchronized manor amplifying it greatly. Perhaps said petrol strimmers and mowers have developed some intelligence and are responsible.

Unlikely that annoying light aircraft is a hobbyist as would be non essential travel to the airfield and flying. So most likely one of the Met Police spy planes - I kid you not - https://www.itv.com/news/london/2014-07-23/mysterious-spyplane-circling-the-skies-could-be-eavesdropping-on-mobile-phone-calls/

There is another thread on here somewhere

It used to wake me up most nights in the summer at 3am then I changed to double glazing.

The below is a summary, you're not going mad!

Actually James ,my brother who knows everything ( and knows he does ) tells me that the twin engined planes are just conducting aerial mapping surveys .And I'm only noticing them now because of the drop in other air traffic .

Because included in his all knowingness is a knowledge of what I am normally alert to .

Hi. Yes, we can hear a low hum. We are at the Actress Pub end of Ulverscroft Road. There is an electric sub-station at the Lordship Lane end of North Cross Road. The hum has increased in intensity over the last five or six weeks. I have heard it in the past, but it was more audible late at night when everything else was quiet. We can now hear it all the time.

Hello,

Could be a possibility that it's cannabis cultivation related noise! Unfortunately I've just moved out of a flat, where the neighbours were growing cannabis and using an extractor fan, which gives off a low bass hum, to help mask the smell. The noise was driving us crazy and it took us many months to figure it out and piece all the bits of evidence together. Initially we thought it was an unbalanced washing machine, and then a broken down boiler, but eventually the signs that it was much worse than those became evident.

Keep making a note of when you are sharing the noise and get onto the councils noise and nuisance enforcement team, who can come and check out the noise for you, especially if it's destroying your daily standard of living experience.
