Beer delivery - Ivy House

Apologies if there is another thread on this, but I can't find it.

The Ivy House had an overwhelming response when they started delivering beer locally, and had to draw breath for a bit, but are now up and running again.

Here is what they posted on Facebook. The selection of ales will vary from day to day.

We were told they can last a week, but you would need to ask them when you phoned I think.

We got eight pints delivered last night (four of a session beer (?) four of an IPA).

Four pints down and four to go :))

They also have Guinness, but they don't think that would last as long.

ETA: You may need to try a few times before somebody answers or gets back to you. For obvious reasons, they are running with very few people, I think one staying at the pub and one out delivering.

Also as the ales change from day to day, you would need to ask what the current selection is. Of the two we got, my partner likes one but I don't (too citrusy for my taste, but that's modern beer for you) and we both like the other.

Just had this update on Facebook.

It looks as if the last date for orders - until next Wednesday - is today!

We'll be back in action again 1.30pm to 4.30pm for your weekend refreshments.

Call us on 020 7277 8233 to find out what's currently available. We'll take your order and payment over the phone for delivery later today.

Our next day for ordering and delivery will be Wednesday 8th April so we'll post a reminder next week. 🍻

Just ordered our further supplies - Brockley Red and Farmhouse.

These seemed the least citrusy (spelling?) of what's currently on offer.

No Guinness, porter or stout available at the moment. They do have cider, if that's your thing.

Delivery will be today, but they can't say exactly when. However most people won't be going anywhere, I guess.

Please support London's first community-owned pub! :)

Ive put my order in and it was due to be delivered at 18.00 Its now 19.30 and nothing. No call even though they rang to say they were out of a brand did I want to replace it.

I'm now worried that it could be a scam though phone numbers and facebook all appear legit.

Any one else in same boat?

This happened to us yesterday, and I knew it wasn't a scam but I was getting quite anxious (and thirsty!)- I thought they might have delivered to the wrong address, and somebody else was drinking our ale :))

There are only a couple of people at The Ivy House at any one time at the moment, one out delivering and one answering the phone, taking the orders and sorting them out for delivery.

One of the people delivering is doing it on foot (respect! He carried four four pint containers to us this afternoon in a hessian bag carried by hand! I don't know if he was also delivering to others!)

The person who delivered to us last night did do it in his van, but he had to wait for the foot deliverer to arrive back before he could set off, and that was the reason for the delay.

Therefore they may run (very) late. Please cut them some (a lot of) slack - they aren't Sainsbury's, they are a two person operation, and this is an unprecedented situation.

Ideally they wouldn't be giving people delivery times, to avoid this understandable worry!

I ordered ours today at around 1.30pm and it was delivered mid afternoon (I'm presently just on my first pint of the day, but still finishing up the delivery from yesterday :)) )

ETA: Hope you are enjoying your ale, Muser. I am :)) :)) :))
