We are in talks with the local police and the council to get CCTV installed, due to no CCTV on Lordship Lane. Dontbesilly, I suggest you do your research before you start spouting nonsense. The irony is literally in the name.

i am not sure what your agenda is dontbesilly, however clearly you couldn't care less about the ED community.

Victimless crime, hurrah! Now we can all shoplift without consequence to anyone. Sod the shops, sod the other customers (especially the ones who pay) oh, and sod the suppliers too.

No, not particularly. Its amazing how fanatical people get on here about the simplest most irrelevant thing- someone didnt clean up their dog poo- disgraceful! Someone nicked something from the local co-op- burn the witch! My bins didnt get emptied on time- scandalous! All whilst perched nicely in your ?1 million + fancy East Dulwich house, when a mile or so away other humans are living in poverty. I really hope you get your CCTV, so some feckless junkies can be sent to prison for a couple of months for nicking a sandwich, perhaps that will make the 'ED community' so much safer.

Than I suggest you do your best to help those in need and stop posting stupid comments. No one cares about your opinion. If you want a sob story, try watching your loved one dying in front of you and there is nothing you can do about it. I doubt very much you live locally, and I suggest the next time you travel to the East Dulwich borders, bring your passport, and we will see you if you are worthy of being in the greatness that is East Dulwich.

Close the door on the way out of ED dontbesilly, or the more apt name would be, Iamsilly

Dontbesilly Is clearly a vile troll with a lot of time on their hands full of bitterness and bile.

Let's face it, those who genuinely care about people who live in poverty would think a lot more about how their actions impact these people. Refusing to wear a mask in shops puts the workers and fellow customers at higher risk of catching the virus and the poorest in our society are those who can least afford to get ill as many have no financial security when they can't work. And having seen the staff in Co-op valiantly chase down shoplifters, I'd suggest these people care very much about this issue as well.

What a sneery, obnoxious response. I do not want your sob story, although its actually quite refreshing to hear of some real life woes here rather than the pathetic whingeing about middle class problems in a city with all manner of social issues and widespread deprivation. I do live locally, although im sure i've probably noticed you looking down your nose at me in M&S because im not lucky enough to be a millionaire when assets are taken into account, as most are around here. Ill just continue on fine and dandy remaining ruefully amused at posts such as yours, good luck with your utterly cringeworthy and pointless crusade to get CCTV installed (when it already is- how do think that tragic incident outside the corner shop last year got solved?) perhaps if you stamp your foot enough someone will take pity on you and pander to your demands.

Sounds like you're a bit miffed about your wealth DBS ?

I'm not sure there's a vetting process or expectation that M&S customers are millionaires, if they did, most would be refused I'm sure !

You've mentioned 'million pound homes' (words to that effect) previously. Those owning a house worth a million or so, almost certainly didn't buy in cash, which implies a mortgage (probably a very large one !) which means unless the owners have other assets and cash to make up the balance they are NOT millionaires.

But the way you go on about it, as if people have been gifted wealth but the freebies ran-out by time you got to the front of the queue for a hand-out, comes over as petulant.

It's obvious that you're on a wind-up on several threads, and fun reading it is too, so I probably should take what you write with a pinch of salt - but a correction was due on the 'millionaire' assumption you seem to consistently and mistakenly make.

Dontbesilly, The CCTV you refer to is the TFL camera not CCTV. I was chatting to some other forumites on the lane today, whilst drinking my oat cappuccino and flashing my black amex around. The other forumites think you are a hoot, absolutely hilarious, sad pathetic and hilarious. How silly of you to mistake a TFL camera for CCTV. You really are silly billy, or maybe you are a hillbilly.

Now jog on back to the borders where you belong, don't forget the binocluars, so you can stare at ED lovingly, wantingly and lustfully.

This is fun, sporting with the peasants

    • Is it? Let's see  Farming is a tough gig with increasingly lower returns, if farms have to sell off land to pay inheritance tax it will reduce their ability to survive. Which in real terms could mean more farm land lost and more reliance on imported food which sees money flowing out, not in to the country.  But I guess as long as you get cheap food that doesn't concern you 😉  Lol "what about the cars"  again Mal... like a broken record....  Governments know that squeezing car drivers for more fuel duty will drive down income from taxes as people switch to electric, which would leave them with a black hole in income. Guess the fuel duty is a fine balancing act tiĺl enough electric cars have been sold to raise tax revenue from their use.
    • Hello - if anyone is in need of sofa/rug/carpet cleaning, we have recently had a very good experience with husband and wife team Kate and Vlad. They're a very reasonable cost and the result was great (don't look too closely at the colour of the water that comes out!) Kate's number is 07731 140246
    • You can buy your parcel postage (tracked or any other) online from Royal Mail, they will come to your address with the label and pick up your parcel, (no extra charge) alternatively, you can print your label at home and apply to your parcel for them to pick up from you also. The other option is to drop off your labelled parcel to the Royal Mail Delivery Office of your choice.
