a_m
Still off in Oglander. Got this text update from UK Power:Update at 17:37 - Our engineers are on their way. At this point we think the issue is an underground network fault that initially interrupted power to 1161 properties. However, by rerouting electricity in the area, currently 293 customers are still affected. Using an average timescale, we're estimating power will be on between 19:00 and 20:00, but this may change later. If anyone wants to sign up to these text updates here?s how:Power cut alert from UK Power Networks. We're aware of a potential unplanned power cut affecting your area. Our reference is INCD-232242-J. Supplies changing over from one Power station to another. I don't know how it all works these days.Perhaps if a sub station fails, another will kick in. KidKruger
Yeah I think there's resilience / failover capability built into electricity feeds, to ensure as consistent and continual a supply as possible. There may be the odd glitch of a couple of seconds (as experienced the other day) if this capability is utilised. JohnL
We had loads of candles in the house as a boy and a hurricane lamp as it happened so often - I actually liked it once.None now - not even an easily accessible torch - I'd just have to sit in the dark.
