Siduhe
Lots of neighbourly clapping by Underhill/Melford/Wood Vale - really good to hear and made me feel quite emotional. se22cat
I can't help thinking that with the way housing stock is set out in most of ED, that being at the doorstep, less than 2 metres apart on many streets is perhaps not so smart...Maybe tweeting support would be a much better idea. Dulwich Born And Bred
I did my clapping from my upstairs window away from everyone. se22cat Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> I can't help thinking that with the way housing> stock is set out in most of ED, that being at the> doorstep, less than 2 metres apart on many streets> is perhaps not so smart...> > Maybe tweeting support would be a much better> idea. On our street and I imagine most other streets, we were able to share and enjoy showing our humongous appreciation and respect for the NHS workers on the coal face while still not ignoring the 2 metre guidance by simply standing outside our houses while maintaining the appropriate distance from our neighbours. Hope this Helps x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/251261-clapping-for-the-nhs/page/2/#findComment-1412340 Share on other sites
se22cat
Personally, I'm incredibly appreciative of the NHS & it's workers, but there's no way I'd risk my or my wife's health by doing this it's ridiculously counter productive. Thankfully it's not happening on our street. I've signed up as a telephone volunteer, something that won't contribute to the spread of the virus & supports the NHS which the government continues to undermine & underfund. fishbiscuits
se22cat - I think that's a bit of an exaggeration! If your neighbour has ventured into their front yard, then maybe stay inside the house. If the coast is clear, head out for a minute or so. Common sense.. edcam
All it required was a bit of common sense re the rules on distancing. Many in our street did it from an upstairs window. Those without common sense are probably better off remaining inside though.se22cat Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Personally, I'm incredibly appreciative of the NHS> & it's workers, but there's no way I'd risk my or> my wife's health by doing this it's ridiculously> counter productive. Pugwash
Top part of Barry Road (near Etherow) last night - loud clapping and cheering for around 5 minutes, even the bus driver terminating outside church got out of his cab and stood on the road side clapping. People were either in their front gardens or standing on their doorstep. No problems with social distancing. Good atmosphere. Finderloo
As the title suggests, it's clapping for the NHS and clapping for carers, who are risking their lives to try and save more from dying.Landcroft Road and others were showing it's appreciation.
