Fruit and veg delivery

Dear all

First, I?m NOT making any money out if this. I?m trying to help.

My supplier of fruit and veg is also having to adapt their business model to include private clients.

Usually these guys look after the restaurant trade however given that restaurants are closing and private clients are unable to purchase staples, these guys have set up a great local delivery scheme:

You do need to contact them direct.

I will be offering Cupboard Cookery Classes with their produce too!

Get in touch with them to buy and follow me on Instagram @eastdulwichxhef to learn how to cook!

See you soon

Suzanne

People can call 02036214242 to ask for which box they want to take.

Just need to give the surname and first name, and we will take the payment over the phone.

Can be delivered tomorrow

Speak soon!

Just placed an order. Receipt: Smith & Brock (www.smithandbrock.com).

Many thanks Suzanne. Sainsburys delivery today has no milk & eggs amongst other missing things, so thought I was stuck as disabled. Saw this and they are delivering today. Currently well-stocked. Lifeline for many who would otherwise be stuck.

Hello there,

I totally agree you should check if this is legit or not.

My name is Suzanne James and I have the catering company on Barry Road, SE22.

This is one of my suppliers and I am trying to support our local community as well as a great supplier.

I hope this is helpful

Suzanne

Hi Sue,

You need to call them - number in Suzanne's first post [02036214242]. Apologies for confusion - I put website on in response to query as to whether legit or not. I phoned this morning. Very easy, pay over phone. Veg, fruit and dairy. Good alternative to Sainsburys when they have no milk & eggs!

I am expecting a box (dairy ?15) today. I shall feedback once they've delivered.

This wouldn't be Guy Colman by any chance? Do you have any connection with this supplier other than business?

In any case, if it is Guy, forum users should know that he has had fake reviews posted about his services before (not produce sales but another business he ran) and complaints about his service including a threat of legal action.

Just had my delivery, arranged this morning. Very grateful to Suzanne for signposting this. I now have milk & eggs and a few extras - I bought the dairy box (3) for ?15. No delivery fee, came within the time frame stated, very helpful on phone and professional driver.

I would recommend to anyone having difficulties sourcing fresh fruit, veg, milk, eggs etc. especially the elderly, disabled & those unable to chase around the stores for vanishing staples.

Dear all

I am unsure who Guy is as this is not my suppliers name.

I am so pleased that this is working out for those that are having difficulty getting out or getting produce. Thank you for your feedback and for helping another small business stay in business

They are taking orders going forward as far as I know and also, I shall be cooking from the boxes and posting ideas on my Instagram account.

Thank you again for supporting one of my suppliers and for offering such great feedback

Suzanne

Palooza - a good way to check a company's key details is via Companies House. Of course, only certain types of companies (e.g. Ltd, LLP) are required to register, but it's free and easy to check. Smith & Brock is registered and you can see a list of their key people online.

From the messages above,it sounds like what they're doing is a win/win: keeping themselves in business and supporting the local community.
