If it is a strawberry mark or haemangioma then the Ophthalmologists at Kings are very knowledgable and refer on to a specialist clinic at Great Ormond Street if they need to. My son has a haemangioma on his lip and when we were seeing the Ophthalmologists for a separate issue they picked it up and gave us some useful information even though it is nowhere near his eyes.

At the moment we are not pursuing treatment so I can't comment on the process involved, but I felt confident that the doctors at Kings knew their stuff! Feel free to PM.

My older son has a strawberry near his bum of all places, caused us a lot of problems in his first few months but has since been fine and is disappearing. have had quite a bit of experience of the various rounds of dermatologists etc - but if it's not a strawberry mark that prob won't be much use! let us know.

My daughter has a haemangioma under her eye and was referred to the specialist clinic at Great Ormond St after being seen at Kings. They are very good, though their policy is usually watch and wait. Hers is still visible age 5 but has reduced in size considerably and hopefully will disappear by the time she is 7. Do PM if you want any more info
