Sorry, another uniform thread...

I just looked at the uniform website which sells all kinds of things with logo but I'm not sure where to stop.

Which items of the DVIS uniform MUST have the logo on them? Jumper, polo?

There's not a word about socks/tights so I assume white or grey socks and grey tights/leggings are ok under skirts/dresses.

Do trousers have to be real trousers or are decent looking leggings also ok for girls in reception?

They don't mention dresses, can I just get red or chequered red/white uniform dresses at M&S?

Can they wear any colour coat and raincoat? And wellies? (shoes must be red/navy/brown but can they wear their regular yellow wellies with terrible girly print on them?)

Thanks for helping...

That sounds ok to me KatDew, I'm just wondering whether to buy 1 or 2 items of each (jumper, polo) with logo and get the rest/spares plain to save some money or if all kids have logos on their tops.

Just thinking the dresses and skirts may have to be grey. If you click through to the "plain" range on the uniform website it shows grey.

Hello!

I found this as it was the only place I could find an actual list (other than the guidance in the New Parents' Information booklet):

http://www.yourschooluniform.com/schools/Dulwich_Village_C_E_Infant_School_SE21_7AL/

I have a son about to start and have gone for only one logo-ed polo shirt and two logo-ed sweatshirts and everything else non-logo M&S/Tesco. I prefered the non-logo-ed tops as they were 100% cotton and cheaper. They only need to wear the logo-ed clothes when they go on outings so I hope that's ok. I've got 6 non-logo polo shirts (well, they were only ?2 for 2!) and 4 non-logo (thin...) sweatshirts.

I think you're assumptions are safe Sanne Panne on socks/tights. And I reckon any "sensible" coat should be fine if they don't specify. Re dresses - yes, I think any red/white gingham dress should be fine.

My son asks every day if he's going to go to school.... The concept of 4 weeks time is difficult to get across!!

Sanne Panne

I have a daughter just going into Year 1 at DVIS - the uniform is basically anything red or grey, they don't actually have to wear anything with the logo on. Last year I bought her two logo-ed t-shirts, a polo shirt and a sweatshirt (more than enough really) and then supplemented with some Sainsbury's plain red polo shirts, Sainsburys red cardigans and some plain grey and red round necked tops. Tights and socks red, grey or white, everyone tends to wear the checked red and white dresses or my daughter had a red and white striped dress this summer which was fine. Any coat and any wellingtons fine - they are pretty relaxed really.

Hope that helps.

I have a couple of red check dresses that are too small for my daughter now (they are Sainsburys age 5). PM me if you'd like them. As Laurac says, anything red, grey or white is fine. Shoes can be black, brown, navy or red. My daughter never wants to wear the logo sweathsirts and t-shirts I got as she prefers to be more girly!

    • Southwark Council Parking Enforcement Corrupt Practices   Today, Southwark Council Parking Enforcement is illegally giving parking tickets to cars that are legally parked on Stradella Road at the end near to Halfmoon Lane.   Firstly, there are several bays at the beginning of Stradella Road that have no parking suspension sign.     Cars are parking legally and are being given parking tickets illegally.   Southwark Council Parking Enforcement officers have been made aware of this illegal behaviour and shown that they are no parking suspension notices in those bays and or in that part of the road; however, they continue to issues tickets illegally and cars continue to park in those bays unaware that they are (apparently) suspended because there is no notice to say such, in fact there is a notice to say 1hr parking between 8:30am and 6pm.   Further up Stradella Road, approximately 250+ metres, several cars were legally parked and there were no parking suspension notices; however, they were illegally issued with parking tickets. Subsequently, an agent for Southwark Council was putting up parking suspension notices in this part of the road at around 1:30-2pm but only after the legally parked cars had been illegally issued with illegal car parking tickets to try and make it look legal. This is clearly a deeply corrupt scam being undertaken by Southwark Council and its agents. It has been separately reported to the police, local councillors and the local MP. It will also be reported to Southwark Council, however, they are uncontactable until next week. Similar corrupt and illegal behaviour by Southwark Parking enforcement officers was also clearly identified in Halfmoon Lane.   It is quite likely to have occurred in other adjacent roads. Photographic and video evidence of these corrupt practices have been provided to the police to investigate and root out corruption in Southwark Council.

    • Hello My husband bought and sold CDs but is no longer trading. I auctioned off all his collection of records and CDs 2/3 years ago. He had a lot of new CD jewel cases and trays which I’ve been trying to sell off cheaply on this forum… Unsuccessful! I just want them gone now as I was asked by  a shop to count them up and they are cluttering up the hallway. I’ve just had cataract surgery and not advised to lift stuff… I have: 200 CD clear cases with black trays 30 orange CD cases with orange trays  75 black double CD cases with black trays  240 CD clear cases 650 black CD trays  65 clear CD trays Also 3/4 boxes of new DVD cases,  Let me know if you’d like to collect any of the above free. You can give a donation to cancer charity if you like!  kind regards  Eleanor
