Entertainment ideas for 40th

Hi, I am hosting a 40th in a private room in a pub for about 30 people. Originally I was going to have a murder mystery where a company would come in and run the event for us but they are no longer available and the quotes were about ?800 + VAT so getting a bit beyond my budget!

Any ideas of what other entertainment I can put on?? Otherwise there is no dancing to look forward to really and it will be a lot of standing around drinking. Feel like I should offer more!

Also, you can buy murder mystery packs to do yourself, though I don't know how many people they involve. I do know someone who had one at a party though.
