Brigid
We have just been to the Lewisham Big Screen on Blackheath - it's free! Lots of families watching the Olympics on a screen, good food, free music performances. And a fair if you fancy it...And from 3 August there are craft workshops for kids organised by Brockley Max. Good atmosphere, very relaxed. A top tip for some of the Olympic flavour if you don't have tickets...as we don't... Yak
There is also the pop up Stonehenge bouncy castle in Burgess Park on Saturday, or at Crystal Palace on the 9th August. Looks ace!http://sacrilege2012.co.uk/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24815-local-olympic-stuff-for-families/#findComment-564605 Share on other sites
BeccaL
And also these hospitality houses look interesting - not strictly directly Olympics related http://www.visitlondon.com/london2012/national-hospitality-houses-for-london-2012/ The Danish one has a model of the Olympic park built out of Lego! Princess
We went to the inflatable Stonehenge when it was in Cheam this weekend. Excellent fun for both kids and adults alike! sarvester
On saturday we just went up the south bank and there was loads going on - they have a festival of the world with a rainbow sandpit (http://katthiskatthat.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/rainbow-sandpit.html), we saw billy bragg doing a busking session and there were various other things tenuously olympic-related. Also along the south bank from London bridge to the tate modern there are the olympic mascot statues which my son seemed to take to. I think there is a big screen of olympic happenings in potters field park too.
