Fruit trees need watering - Woodland near Sainsbury DKH

Recommended Posts

We got the Southwark Council to put in fruit trees on the Woodland area beside Sainsbury on Dog Kennel Hill and behind the Adventure Playground but they need watering for this hot weather we are having - so if you can bring a container of water and even only water one tree that might help SAVE them? Cheers

I haven't seen the trees in question but also the high winds we have had will will make it hard to take root if the trunks are not firmly staked for the first 3 or so years, mulching around the base helps as does keeping the area around the base weed free.

I think they need resettling. I would be happy to come over with a spade and replant them. 10 L tree and shrub compost for each tree, 1 stake for each tree, 1 rubber fastener for each tree, a couple of packets of water retaining granules. PM to contact me. I am a horticulturalist.
