DadOf4
Does anybody know if Southwark will provide a 2nd blue (recycling) bin or a larger one.As the collection is every 2 weeks, every time our blue bin is overflowing The southwark website seems to infer that they will only REPLACE bins, not send additional Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/247865-additional-or-larger-blue-bin/ Share on other sites
se22cat
We got provided with one I guess on the judgment of the refuse collectors alone. I thought they'd left an extra one by accident initially so left it outside our house, but it was emptied & returned & has been ever since October. Paradise2
Southwark do provide extra blue bins, you can order one on their website. They won?t provide more than one green bin as everyone is expected to recycle more Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/247865-additional-or-larger-blue-bin/#findComment-1400306 Share on other sites
Jennys
We asked for and got a second blue bin some time ago. Wasn?t any problem about this. Serena2012
If someone who has had success on this front could post a link to the exact section of the Southwark website they used, then that would be much appreciated. Our blue bin is typically overflowing after a week. I?ve asked Southwark for an additional blue bin twice over the past 6 months or so to no avail. hammerman
I've had two blue recycling bins for about 8/9 years now. I would phone the main Southwark Council phone number on 0207 525 5000 to ask for advice. James Barber
I'd ask quickly - the council are planning to charge ?25 per wheelie bin or REPLACEMENT wheelie bin if one is stolen or misplaced when emptied - http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/documents/s86788/Appendix%20C%20Income%20generation.pdf Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/247865-additional-or-larger-blue-bin/#findComment-1400456 Share on other sites

nxjen
Dadof4:The link you need is https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/general-household-waste/request-household-waste-bins-bags. They are happy to provide extra blue bins ?You can order replacement blue bins if your bin has been lost or stolen, or if you need more recycling capacity.?James: This is not for the blue bin but the general waste bin i.e. the green bin.
